This is Stephen Gogolev's first appearance in Juniors, right? I'll be routing for him. :cheer2:

First appearance at nationals as a junior: yes, but he's been skating domestically as a junior all season. Was at the top of the podium at Challenge with a total score of 215.01.

His layouts at Challenge:

SP.... 3A, 3Lz+3T, CSSp, FCSp, StSq, 3Lo, CCoSp

FS... 3A+2T, 4S, 3A, CCSp, CCoSp, 3Lz+3T, 3F, 3Lo+1Lo+3S, StSq, 3S, 2A, FCCoSp

----------------------------

ETA reprising my list of skaters to watch for in this event from my post on the State of Canadian thread....

Stephen and some other Central Ontario skaters are in the first flight....including Gabby's younger brother Zachary Daleman, Conrad Orzel [bronze at Challenge], and Bruce Waddell who joined Stephen on the last year's novice podium with a bronze. Matthew Markell of Eastern Ontario who took silver on the novice podium is in the second flight. In the third flight we'll see Challenge silver medallist Eric Liu of AB/NWT/NT and Ilya Kolver of CO who took fourth place.....

Is Zachary Daleman related to Gabrielle Daleman? Brother?

Yes, he's her younger brother.

Anyone else seeing a "live streaming begins in" countdown with more than an hour to go at the moment?

ETA never mind, they must have been off by an hour, it's started now :)

Oh Bruce, he's so tired. Third program in one day. But he's still such a good skater. That StSq was great!

Btw TGee you've posted Stephen's FS layout from Challenge which he changed on the fly. His actual layout has 3F+1Lo+3S, and the 3Lo is a solo jump.

Jack Dushenski reminds me so much of Sadovsky. That same style...

I can't seem to find a live results page. Is there one?

Thank you  Wow all the elements are updated live as well :eeking:

While they've had this feature for a while, it's working better this year. They also run the live scoring on the big screen during the event.

Having Ted Barton and Debbie Wilkes doing the commentary, and having interviews in the KnC at the end of flights is really stepping up the coverage though. :2thumbs::yahoo:

Conrad really got it together. Good for him, I've been waiting for this!

Stephen...his 3A has been giving him problems this season. And how much of the 3Lz problem is caused by training a 4Lz?

Still the FS to look forward to so no worries.

PB and SB for Matthew Markell of EO who now stands 7th at the end of the second flight.

Matthew, a training mate of Alaine Chartrand, has reportedly grown a great deal since his silver as a novice at nationals last year. Good to see him back on an upward track.

I just want to say that I'm so happy that Skate Canada is following SC British Columbia/Yukon's example in everything. Graphics, results, commentary, video uploading to YouTube. That is the way to go to promote skaters and skating in Canada. I loved Ted's commentary about the elements and his enthusiasm for the junior men. Now I hope these practices catch on in other sections.

Wondering if the new SC CEO took note of our plea to listen to Ted on live coverage.....

Whomever she and HQ listened to -- THANKS!!! :thank:
