Anne Line Gjersem and Sondre Oddvoll Bøe of Asker didn't participate, both had byes for international results. Sondre's absence meant there were no male skaters in the competition. Anne Line has already secured the spot for the European Championships in Ostrava due to her season's best, which is the Norwegian Skating Association's selection criteria. Juni Marie from Oslo – the only senior-eligible lady who competed internationally this season until Anne Line returned from an injury this month – is the substitute. Sondre Oddvoll Bøe was the only candidate for Euros in the men's division and will be competing there later in January.

The trophy for Novice ladies returned to the Bergen Skating Club with Ingrid Louise Vestre taking the top spot with a total of 77.93 points. Frida Turiddotter Berge from Asker won the silver with 74.51 points and Ingrid Louise's teammate Malene Johansen Trengereid snatched the final podium place with 70.25 points.

Ellen Yu from Oslo defended her junior title with a 113.90 point total, after seeing great personal and athletic development at her two JGP assignments this season. She landed a 3S+2T combination in the short programme and gained a six point lead on Andrea Aschim Lae, also from Oslo, who ultimately won the bronze medal with 96.24 points. The silver medal was won by Andrea's teammate Kari Sofie Slørdahl Tellefsen who climbed from third in the short to second overall with 99.76 points.

In seniors Jemima Rasmuss from Asker had the lead after the short programme with 43.85 points to Juni Marie Benjaminsen's 41.70 points. Jemima also won the free skate, leaving her with an impressive 121.86 points total and a gold medal overall. Juni Marie won silver in her senior nationals debut with 101.99 points, and Ingrid Katrina Bakke from Trondheim won the bronze with 99.38 points.

Congratulations to all the skaters for a wonderful effort, and it's great to see that the love of skating keeps growing among young people in Norway. There were also some young men competing on the Norwegian Cup circuit this season whom we'll hopefully see more of soon! :)
