That Beillmann into that haircutter was simply spectacular.......As I've watched these clips, I can see these skaters growing in confidence. Most of you know that my ballet teacher was Russian and of all the people I've worked with over my long career. She is still the teacher I credit with my nerves of steel. I love seeing these students "Go for It" they seem to skate with no fear and that will be a valuable lesson when they start competition against skaters who are close in age and capability to their own.

It's the spark of confidence that will make the difference when it comes to who wins if the tech scores are too close to call. I don't know what the capacity of students is at Plushy's academy but, I think he will need to add extra classes next year because this academy looks fantastic......LRK, Thank you so much for these updates..... :bow:

I believe only Sharapova and some hockey players are more well-known and popular Russian athletes as him.The Russians can be happy Plushenko founded his school in Russia because (he loves Russia, he wants to that his son grow up in Russia) he received offer from Japan to make a figure skating school there. He and Japanese investors would jointly build the new school. I'm sure in that country no one would criticize him because of his price.
He received an offer from Chineses in Sochi. He rejected it he said that offer is too early.These are only those offers what he mentioned. Probably there were more.

The superstars have superstar prices. I mentioned he sold master classes for 11000$ in a charity action. Crazy, don't you think?

I am not with you on this. Kolyada was injured for quite a while. He has only one stable quad. Yet, he was quite competitive in Boston and at the recent WTT. He is quite close to getting a 4Lz and 4S. Then he is sure in the game scoring close to 300 if clean. Why cannot Plushy find a guy like Mikha and nourish him to the top and with this guy to build an Eteri-like "factory"?

And don't forget about Javier. He is not Asian but he beat everyone at 2 last Worlds out of 3 (actually, at the last WC's SP as well)

Oh, I'm hoping you are right!!!!:agree: The Russian skaters were my greatest favorites in my whole life! But the men fs changed a lot last years but especially last season. The guys jumped 4-5-6 quads in FS. When Javi won he didn't need only 3. You can say if he would have been perfect in this season etc..But you don't forget for ex Chen will evolve in every part of skating plus the 5-6 quads..

I think next season for the Men will be very difficult. As far Kolyada, like Javi, he really is a great performer and the way he ended his season at WTT, he left a very good impression on everyone. I would definitely keep him in mind as a medal threat everywhere he go's.

Nope, Adelina's got an injury at the moment so it's not a sure thing yet. Last I heard they were going to decide at the end of May.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I can't say enough how valuable it is to have a coach that can display and execute exactly what he's talking about. That is why I loved my ballet teacher and I bet those kids feel the same way about Plushy. I seriously don't know if I could breathe standing that close to a living legend. They may not realize it right now, but when they are older, they'll look back at these clips and know how truly lucky they were. I feel lucky just seeing these little clips.

Someone should tell the people at the Broadmore Arena, that they'd be doing themselves a great service if they could stream some of the training that the high level students are doing. I think they'd be surprised at how many people are interested in seeing how these skaters train and what it takes to get to the upper echelon of skating.

I feeeeel the pain from that "Plank" exercise....I hated that exercise when I was dancing and our teacher used to make us do it until our arms would shake and we'd fall. Torture.....However, if you look at Plushy, you can see that these workouts really keep you toned, without making you look bulky. Strangely, even if they're solid, bulky muscles make you look fat. These exercises really elongate your body and give you core strength, along with flexibility. Notice how the students don't let their hips drop out of the diagonal line. That's why that exercise is so hard..... :drama:

When I watch the first clip of Plushy doing those jumps in a big circle around the students, I can't help but watch "Them." The look of awe and total respect for their teacher is as clear as can be. I remember just staring at my ballet teacher almost like I was dreaming. The fact that Plushy can show students exactly what they need to do instead of just screaming it from the boards is such a gift.

As someone who spent 40 years either learning, training, competing, judging, or teaching dance, I have so much respect for a skater who is giving back to the sport by helping to keep it growing and in the spotlight. Make no mistake, having Plushy's name attached to this academy will benefit every rink in Russia. I know it may look like a small academy right now but, if even one of his skaters has a successful season, this academy will explode in popularity.

Those shoulder and chest isolations are hilarious.......We used to call those "Rack Attacks" I can't explain why but, I just love these clips.

You know what's weird, is how dance fashion has changed. I don't see a single dancer wearing these....We called them Parachute Pants but most people know them as "Hammer Pants" because MC Hammer used to wear the all the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IPQ-0oD5o0 However, We did NOT wear them that low on our hips...:eeking:

Watching those kids skate around that circle doing crossovers is so cute I can hardly stand it. I love these clips and as you know, I look forward too seeing them every time you post them. Thank You so much!!!!!!!

That's adorable! And he's getting so good! I continue to feel talentless on the ice when I watch such things, oh well, I still have fun so that's the important thing.

I love hearing about your dance-past mrrice. And showing my age I remember when Parachute pants were the fashion accessory! My brothers and I each had a pair (although they weren't so puffy...) and they made a funny noise when you walked. As for wearing them low, I think that's just the fashion now, in my day you pulled them up! :agree:
