Men:
Gold: Tyler Hamilton USA 57:31.74
Silver: Viacheslav Ekimov RUS 57:50.58 +0:18.84
Bronze: Bobby Julich USA 57:58.19 +0:26.45
Ekimov, the defending champion, is one of Armstrong's strongest and most important teammates. At 38 he's planning to ride his 15th straight Tour de France next year. Hamilton said in a post-race interview that he was really angry after crashing out of the Tour and that he used it in this race. This time he was competing only with a broken wrist from that earlier crash. Great performance for Julich, too; he was once a 3rd place finisher at the Tour de France.
Vinokourov, who was injured in a race before the Tour and couldn't compete this year, came in 6th, and Ullrich came in 7th. The CBC commentators said he had dropped a lot of weight since the Tour. Yikes.
Eric Wolberg of Canada sounded thrilled with his top twenty (18th place) finish in a post-race interview.

Silver: Deidre Demet-Barry USA 31:35.62 +0:24.09
Bronze: Karin Thurig SUI 31:54.89 +0:43.36
Christine Thorburn (USA) came in 4th (almost 20 seconds behind Thurig). Lyne Bessette and Susan Palmer-Kolman of Canada came in 16th and 17th.
46-year-old Jeannie Longo-Ciprelli came in 14th, after a silver-medal performance in the road race.
