Ugggh, a 10:40AM start, Finnish time?! I was dumb and assumed it would be later in the day, silly me.
I doubt I'll be able to stay awake for the entire night. I'd love to see the final two groups, maybe I should set an alarm? Would anyone know the approximate start time of the last two groups in EST?
Im at work! So I will be following everyones comments!! Cant watch
A random but not a particularly interesting fact is that for the past three World Championships, the winner was always the skater who skated first in her SP group.
2014 - Asada skated first in the 2nd-last group
2015 - Tuktamysheva skated first in the final group
2016 - Medvedeva skated first in the final group
Medvedeva will very likely win this one anyway though, so I guess this time it wouldn't matter when she skates...
ANNE LINE GJERSEM FOR WORLD CHAMPION!

Seeding...
Ok where is a livestream?
I applaud your intention to watch starting from the first skater:clapper:
I am watching on the Match Arena feedI'm a committed FS fan who for the first time is able to watch an entire session because I got out of work early and have the whole DAY to watch it! It's one of those "YOLO" days...
Ok where is a livestream?
Seeding is supposed to be done by ordering skaters by World Ranking, and splitting them into two approximately equal groups "skate earlier" and "skate later". With uneven numbers of skaters, the extra skater is put into "skate later" In the "skate later" group, the highest ranking skaters have a draw for the last warmup group and the next highest ranking skaters draw for the penultimate group, followed by any remaining skaters in the "skate later" group drawing for spots. Then the "skate earlier" group will have a draw for their spots (with no separate groupings like the "skate later" skaters do).

Starting order by current World Standings Ranking:
...
Judging by this, it looks like the rules were followed. 37 skaters means 19 in "skate later" and 18 in "skate earlier". Warmup Group 7 contains the 6 top ranked skaters, and Warmup Group 6 the next top 6. The 7 remaining "skate later" make up Warmup Group 5 and the last two spots in Warmup Group 4. Warmup Groups 1-3 and the first 3 skaters in Warmup Group 4 are then entirely random draw for their spots, which is how Anastasia Galustyan (ranked 41) is in Warmup Group 1 and Yasmine Kimiko Yamada (ranked 170) is in Warmup Group 3.
So, just to clarify because it is so easy to get confused with the terminology, the seedings are based on the World Standings (past 3 seasons), not the World Rankings (just current season).
Bearing in mind that it is based on something, I really can't understand why they don't do it as a straight lowest to highest. It would make the SP so much easier to follow, and also mean that we would know the start order a lot sooner!
And I am still raging with the changes they made to the FS start order at the last congress. They missed the opportunity to make the competition simpler to follow and more exciting at the same time!
