Two nice skates from Gubanova. Bit of a scrappy 3Lz in the SP but a very strong free skate, thought they were a bit mean with the PCS. Much better than her JGP showing. I think it will be tough for her to make the Russian team for World Juniors, Team Eteri could be have all 3 Ladies.
I seen Talalaykina last year in Russian juniors and I liked her. She was 12th after the SP but skated strongly to come 2nd in the Free to move up to 2nd overall. She would walk on to many national teams but can’t even get a JGP assignment from Russia, it’s crazy tough.
I feel a bit sorry for the Danish girl who was 25th in the SP didn’t make the free, being the only girl to do so, missing by 0.1. Could they not have added an extra skater to the first group?
