I believe I read somewhere (can't remember where) that she realized studying neurosurgery and competing would not work concurrently and that therefore she is thinking of studying journalism first (while also competing) and then perhaps switching careers later. And she also needs to fit her equestrian career in somewhere. :p

Yes, Falun, Aliona said that in an interview earlier this season (can't remember exactly which one).

Of course, if Aliona wants to be a neurosurgeon, that is an amazing goal, but as a selfish/greedy fan, I personally hope she opts for sports journalism so that she'll still be in the public eye (and we can see her!). To me, it just seems like a waste of her star power and charisma for her to be covered up in a mask and hidden away in an operating room... :slink: But if that's her heart's desire, then so be it! :agree:

Thank you for this! Glad I was able to understand what she was saying in the horse segment 🤣

I wonder what the horses thought of the tiny human with the super high pitched voice talking a mile a minute 🤣

LOL, Alyona could barely restrain herself. But to me, she looked not quite yet 100% at ease with horses. The adoration and love for this noble breed of animal was clearly showing though.
That lively filly was still too shy to approach a human, but it was curious for Alyona nevertheless.
This short trip into the country to the horses was probably the off ice highlight for Alyona.

I have never seen before as beautiful skating or anything like this, and I immediately fell in fan of that gorgeous creature.

In Finland old stupid (but official!) name for a figure skating was "kaunoluistelu" meaning "beautiful skating". Well, IMO Aliona is in "beautiful skating" and others just skate figures.

Here's a post by the Editor-in-chief of Tatler Russia, Ksenia Solovieva:

Apparently Alina and Sasha had their moms with them at the photoshoot, but Anna and Aliona came by themselves via taxi and left by themselves, and, Ksenia was amazed by how independent they are. :agree:

Lovely words from Ted about Aliona's SP at Nationals (swipe to the right).

The less time girl spends on the Internet, the more she lives a real life. So we can only be happy for Alyona :)

So Ksenia really must have been impressed by Aliona, because she commented about Aliona leaving via taxi by herself again here:

Apparently Aliona lives not too far from the Tatler office, in a place called "River Station"...?

Also, Tatler Russia posted the solo photo of Aliona on their Instagram:

So far she's the only one whose solo shot was featured!

I wonder if Aliona will get invited to the annual Tatler debutante ball... That would be very cool! :agree:

New interview with Dasha Pavliuchenko (Aliona's bestie)! :luv17:
https://matchtv.ru/figure-skating/m..._otvechajut_na_voprosy_podpischikov__Match_TV

Here's what she had to say about Aliona:
GoogleTranslate:
- See other types of figure skating, who are you rooting for?

Daria: - I watch all kinds, and I am sick most of all for Alena Kostornaya, since we have been friends since childhood. I always worry and support her. In general, I want everyone to ride to their maximum. Because everyone works hard and invests a lot of time and effort, and I would like them to have success too.

**
- Dasha, tell us about your friendship with Alena Kostornaya.

- With Alena we are friends with the “Tchaikovsky Horse”. We started together, warmed up together, studied, dined, went to competitions. Since then we communicate. Alena is a very positive person.

- Daria, have you ever called Aliona to pair skating?

“No, because she is a very good single.” Plus it should be a personal choice.

I'm always glad that Aliona has such a great best friend like Dasha. And I'm super happy they'll most likely be at Worlds together! :agree:

Dasha also said that she shared a room with Aliona at Euros, which REALLY confused me because Anna said that she was supposed to be sharing a room with Aliona, except that she stayed with her parents for most of the time. Maybe they had a triple room?

Dasha and Denis are apparently going to Vienna to attend a ball at the end of May... That would be very cool if Aliona go to go too! :agree:

Japanese interview with Jackie Wong:
https://number.bunshun.jp/articles/-/842533?page=3

He was asked to compare Rika and Aliona, and he said, "If we compare Kihira and Kostornaia's jumps, then Kostornaia wins in terms of speed and height. That's where she earns GOE. However, in terms of correctness of the lutz edge, then Kihira has a clearer outside edge."

**

Also, Eteri did a Japanese interview, and she was asked about the 3 A's:
https://post.tv-asahi.co.jp/post-111873/

She said that they're all different in terms of personality, and that "Aliona is a girly girl, so when things don't go well, she cries or gets mad."

Yep, we definitely see that in the practices!

That reminds of the behind-the-scenes video at Euros, when Daniil said that if Aliona had been laughing and joking around at practice, they would've panicked!

With Alena we are friends with the “Tchaikovsky Horse”

Little scoundrel Google as always naughty

In Russian we call "skates" - "коньки" - "little horses". Our ancestors came up with this name probably because "horse" was synonymous with speed for them.

So "Конек Чайковской" it's "Tchaikovskaia's skate" (one skate). Elena Tchaikovskaia it's coach of Maria Butyrskaya.

Yes, Russian skaters stand on two small horses and ride them on ice.

A journalist publicly stating the whereabouts of a very popular minor on a social network?!

This is actually not a secret. I known before that Alyona lives "at a River Station". This is not the "place". This is the area around the metro station "River Station". The size, approximately 1.5 per 1 km in which tens of thousands of people live. In addition, there is major bus station - there every day a lot of people come to work from the nearest Moscow region. It's VERY crowded all the time, believe me (I was there regularly for a while). To say "he/she lives at the River station" is to say nothing.
