Alaine Chartrand's ending to her Piña short program from 2015-16. When she was having a good skate with this program, BAM, that sassy ending got me every time.

I also really enjoy Elena Radionova's starting pose for her Porgy and Bess SP, used last year and kept on for this season as well. It's quirky and awkward, but it's totally Lena, so it works. Sometimes I think it's her way of telling off those who criticize her posture - like hell yea, this is me, get used to it! :cheer:

I love everything about Tessa and Scott's Carmen FD from 2012-2013. Scott's scream at the beginning was awesome. My favourite is the ending: Tessa, you fierce thing, you! Carmen gets her man and then finishes him. :dbana:

I will forever regret not getting tickets to Worlds in 2013 to watch this live. :( London Ontario is only a two hour drive from my house. Silly stupid me!:sad21:

Not a S or E pose, but here's a lift in which Katia's posture is so exquisite. It isn't too stiff in the back like some of the pairs women perform it, yet it's like she's pretty much in heaven ... face, beautiful positions, and the feeling of flying.

I'm not minimizing Sergei's part in all of this. Just stellar. Sigh. So elegant, never an awkward second, attention to detail each moment.

Also, I need to give mad props to Piper and Paul for always getting into character immediately as they step on the ice,
continuing to stay in character at the program's end, while they take their bows, them skate off, basically they don't stop their performance until they're seated in the kiss and cry.

Disco Reggie and Disco Diane, anyone?

And let's not forget last yesr's tango FD:

And both this year's new short dance and free dance.

Love them or hate them, nobody can say they don't fully commit to what they're doing out there.

Ohhhhh. Yes yes yes! This gives me all the feels. I still can't believe Sergei has been gone for almost 22 years. :sad21: I was only 12 when he passed away, but I remember my mom and I being so sad and heartbroken, G&G were our favourites. :(

Slightly off topic to this discussion, but does anyone know why they used Moonlight Sonata for both their free program and their exhibition in Lillehammer? I assume it was mentioned in "My Sergei", but it's been a long time since i last read the book.

Watch from the beginning of that video. They started with "Reverie," left the ice then reprised the first part of their Moonlight Sonata. I've seen other exhibitions where they did two "shorts" as well. A nice little encore.

Ohh, I see it now! I completely forgot that they did that!

From today, the Infinity Pose at the beginning of Aliona/Bruno FS!!!:luv17::love: https://youtu.be/KhUACI_L94M?t=33s

Some nice creativity and innovation in the choreo. I like the lift where she looks like a Tilt-a-Whirl. https://youtu.be/KhUACI_L94M?t=3m

Almost everything in Savchenko/Massot's new FS is so interesting novel and refreshing! The "Infinity Pose" is an awesome name. :)

Has anyone yet mentioned their ending pose from last season's FS: https://youtu.be/AFzlq5Hf13c

Oh, thanks, that ending pose was so cool! In fact, I loved everything about their FS last year. Such unexpected lyricism and softness. I'm off to re-watch the whole thing.

I kinda like Nathan's beginning moves in this year's short program Nemesis. I find it refreshing - let's just say it's my "guilty pleasure" :slink:

Though I have to admit, every time I hear the term "death on ice" I can't help but think of Sergei Grinkov and then feel so sad, because that's what legitimately happened to him....

He's a pleasure for me, without guilt! And I agree with you, those opening moves are wonderful. Shae-Lynne's choreo seems to capture something in Nathan that hasn't been seen ... or at least not noticed much. It's also in his SOI skate "Stole the Show." which he choreographed.
