Oh no, I'm up to E 32, I hate it, I already know that Leyla is going to degrade Savi and continually harangue on Yasi and Cicek is continually feeding Yavuz what is happening at the Baldar home.

I loved Lovebird also. Excellent series
But L&P is by far my favorite. They are both love stories but in different times.

72 episodes! Is the ending good? And is E72 really the end? Might watch over the holidays.
I'll try to find that scene in LP you mentioned.

Are you watching LP episode 27 in season 1 on Netflix or season 2?

Smile23 in episode 24 of the first season when Savas took Yasemine on their first weekend did u notice where they were walking? That look like a scene in Lovebird. Also listen to their dialogue. They made reference to the old way of dating like we saw in Lovebird

Hmmm....I'll have to check it out.

I notice that happens quite a bit in Turkish shows. The mansion that Azelya lived in (the woman in the late episodes who tried to get revenge on Kamran) was featured in another Turkish show.

It happens alot in Taiwanese and Korean shows. In almost every other show, I notice a house or police station, etc that was used previously.

The Lovebird ending has probably been one of the most discussed topics here.

I wouldn't let it affect your experience. It's an ending that you will have to interpret on your own, as we all did. Unfortunately, the backstory is this: the network the show was airing on in Turkey decided to cancel the show after 72 episodes. This forced the writers to come up with something quick in order to end it in some sort of way. The ending is not bad per se but you can tell that they were probably planning a much better ending before they had to go with the current one.

But it's really a minor issue because the show is sooooo good. It's 70+ episodes of Kamran and Feride's story and their family. Lots of great romance, lots of cute moments, lots of fantastic drama, the dialogue is great, the costumes are beautiful. It has it all. You really feel like in you're in Turkey circa 1920's.

I just watched it. Yeah, that's funny. They pretty much described a couple of different scenes: first, the scene by the lake with the boat. Kamran smelled the rose and gave it to his secret love who was holding the umbrella. Meanwhile, Feride who was watching them also had an umbrella.

They then also described the scene in the woods when Feride drops her handkerchief. Also, Yasemin mentioned Kamran's mustache.

I loved it. You are right about the last scene. It wasn't bad. The writers did give hope that Feridie showed up. Don't u think the actress was excellent in that role. I loved her.

I loved them both. From beginning to end, I thought their relationship was well done. And those cute moments when they were having a picnic or when they were hunting frogs or running from the law together, it melts your heart.

Good actors, good characters. I love that actors fell in love in real life after doing this show and got married. They one of Turkey's hottest celebrity couples right now.

Just doing stuff for my granddaughter and decided I could leisurely watch LP, turned it to NE 12 - loved the look on Savi's face when Yasi first walks into 5x5. As she sits there smiling and ordering wine, his face says he's shocked but his mind is spinning as to how is he going to approach her. :)

Once they arrived at the meeting at Savi's office building, I laugh every time I hear Sevgi answer Yasi when she says I thought they were from Van (apparently Nadya is not a name used with the Kurds in Van). Sevgi says the bosses are from Van and what if he turns out to be a yahoo. :laugh2: Wonder what that is in Turkish, the dictionary says: kaba adam or dağlı, I'll have to find the location for Lili to ask her - it's E6 1:29:58.

The women's solution to the fact that Cicek isn't pregnant yet is to either give her back to her father or Savas should take a second wife! :drama: That sure makes Sahnur happy. :scowl:

I tried to find the whole poem that Nadye tells Savi about - "the lover only has his love" by Cemal Süreya. I found some of his poems but not the one that's quoted in NE12 LP.

NE 13 I love their meeting that begins this episode. She looks so scared, after all he's her son's father, and he looks so confident in his love for her. They both played that scene beautifully.

I found the song that is sung after they meet under the bridge in NE13 when they both go home and think of each other. It was apparently also sung in Asi and that's what I found that had English subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p9KTGVQA-s
but this one has scenes from Ask ve Ceza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PWGM6j1HEM

and it's sung throughout the series. It's Yalnızlar Rıhtımı, Wharf of Loners - Lonely Dock. Here's an english translation along with the turkish lyrics: http://lyricstranslate.com/en/yalnizlar-rihtimi-wharf-loners.html

and I think I like this translation better: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070715150548AAZNwBq

Apparently this is an old song: " Korkut Koray is the younger brother and the biggest supporter of Erkin Koray, one of the major figures in Turkish psychedelic music and Anatolian rock by the late 1960’s. He started his music career with his brother’s band, Erkin Koray and the Rhythm Makers. He earned reputation as the first rock drummer of Turkey, and then turned the wheel hard to Latin music, and played with some orchestras. His trademark is to be able to play drums and to sing simultaneously. He released two 45’s in 1970’s, and one of those is Arabacı/Yalnızlar Rıhtımı." Oh no, believe it or not here he is singing it in 1974 :): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG3yW9TsBAc

I recently started watching a South Korean series called Descendants of the Sun. It's sooooo good. It's a romantic drama about a young military soldier who falls in love with a young female doctor, and the show tells their love story.

It's beautifully done. It's so romantic too. I recommend it to you guys if you're looking for a good romance. The main couple is super hot and adorable at the same time.

Oh, and it's on Netflix.

Hey you all, remember you asked where the duck pond was, where they met for tea with that wonderful fountain and ducks swimming about: it's the duck pond that Savas and Yasemin went that Saturday afternoon, when he told her he wasn't going to give up asking her to meet him - NE 14.

 I found it when I googled duck pond in istanbul - see the duck house above the water (that was in the series) https://www.google.com/maps/@41.047...k-no-pi-0-ya203.89738-ro0-fo100!7i8192!8i4096

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.047...-no-pi-0-ya142.75244-ro-0-fo100!7i8192!8i4096
and the building behind it: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.047...k-no-pi-0-ya203.89738-ro0-fo100!7i8192!8i4096. It is called: Çadır Kiosk- It was built by Sultan Abdülaziz (1861–76), who used them as prisons. Today it houses a café and restaurant. https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Çadır_Köşkü

and the bridge in the back, that Yasi walked across to met Savi for tea https://www.google.com/maps/@41.047...k-no-pi-0-ya203.89738-ro0-fo100!7i8192!8i4096
and on the bridge - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Y...88be5291300df57!8m2!3d41.0485137!4d29.0130707

and where they sat together for tea - they must have created their own fake tea house for the series. You can see the pond, the bridge and the little island where they had tea - https://www.google.com/maps/place/B...dfb1874dd1c24aa7!8m2!3d41.0476879!4d29.013239

It's called Yildiz Park: http://howtoistanbul.com/en/yildiz-park/3660

It's on the European side of the strait just south of our favorite bridge, on the opposite side of the strait from where they played hooky from work after eating lunch at 5x5 and took their walk along the strait . https://www.google.com/maps/place/Y...d3f0c3423ee17e6!8m2!3d41.0491431!4d29.0152631

So I'm up to episode 3 and apparently the rest of the show takes place in Greece. Very interesting. The scenery is beautiful.

I found this on Wikipedia explaining why Lili baci can't get wikipedia. I had read a conversation between 2 people last night explaining what happened but I can't find it now so the following below should explain it - of course as in most things in both our worlds, it's political.

On 29 April 2017, Turkish authorities blocked online access to Wikipedia in all languages across Turkey.[1][2] The restrictions were imposed by Turkish Law No. 5651,[3] due to the article on state-sponsored terrorism, where Turkey was described as a sponsor country for ISIS and Al-Qaeda, which Turkish courts viewed as a public manipulation of mass media. Despite multiple requests by Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority, Wikipedia refused to edit the article to comply with Turkish law. Wikipedia currently remains blocked in Turkey.
