Congratulations to Majorie and Zach, who not only improved upon their personal bests in their short and combined score in Croatia, but also produced two strong performances resulting in a well deserved win in Zagreb!!!!! this is their first ever JGP victory! With this win they have also qualified for their first junior Grand prix final!! This is the most confident and in command I've ever seen them perform two programs at an event. I'm also glad to see them stick with their tough twizzle entry, they are getting really close to nailing it! Still room for improvement, but I thought that the progress between Brisbane and here was notable. Yay!!! So excited for them!!! :hap93:

By far my favourite junior dance team. I love the free dance especially (and their costumes). They improved so much between Brisbane and Zagreb. I'm very excited to see them at the JGPF. And they have such a good coaching team.

Hi guys! I thought it was about time for L&L to have their own fan thread here :). They really do deserve it! They really impressed me at Canadian nationals and World juniors this past season. I Don't think their programs from last season were anything special, but what caught my eye is how well they sold the programs they were given, which usually takes a team a long time to develop. I agree wholeheartedly, their knee bend and edge quality is really great, it seems to come naturally to them. I think they also have great speed and are able to skate close together in hold and step sequences with ease.I know they still have a lot of room to improve, as is the case with any team, but I think that they are very capable of being competitive in all of the elements, and their skating skills are right up their too, It's just about connecting the dots now, finding cohesiveness. finesse. I saw some of that here. What I also really like about this team is the speed at which they improve. the improvement just in the last two years has been crazy. Between every event they seem to improve in some capacity. They are always hungry to improve, they never seem entirely pleased, regardless of the result. and I completely agree that a lot of that improvement is due to their current coaching team. I actually think their SD this year is a great vehicle for them, and it stands out amongst the others for me. I wasn't very fond of their FD initially, but it is really growing on me. I don't know if this is pretentious to say, but I really think they are one of the most evenly matched, if not the most evenly matched team in terms of skills competing in juniors. I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to the JGP as well. It looks like it's going to be ultra competitive this year! I know it's still way too early to tell, but I wonder if they will also enter the senior event at nationals? I think they have a pretty reasonable shot at getting one of the four continent spots. but that may not be their focus. anyways I'm a incoherent rambler, so I apologize for this huge blob of comments.:p

I'd be interested to see them at 4CC, but they'd have to get their senior minimums somewhere first. It would mean creating senior versions of their programs, which is a bigger deal in dance than in the other disciplines, and they might just want to focus on the junior ones for Junior Worlds, since I'm sure they're hoping to content for a medal there. I think most of the time it doesn't make sense for dancers to switch between junior and senior, but Tessa and Scott did 4CC in 2006 when they won everything in juniors, so sometimes it works.

I think they should focus on junior worlds as well... but 4cc is a definite option.... as we for sure cannot expect the top 3 to go...

so it looks like Soucisse Firus, Sales/W (saving myself the shame of a spelling mistakes) could easily be sent... but then... who else?

I think they could get TES minimums simply by doing a later senior b...

Can someone translate this interview to English, please?

Summarized translation (not word for word) :

Interviewer (I): how do you feel after such a flawless performance?

Zack: it was very good but not flawless, we still have lots of work to do; ... but we are happy because we gave our max and were able to perform as we do during training: that was our objective.

Marjo: We were happy because we were able to stay in the present moment despite the pressure, it was a good feeling for us.

I: Did you feel more pressure as you had to defend your performances from previous junior nationals ? (3rd time)

Zack: No. We were nervous because we wanted to show what we are able to do during training, but not more nervous

I: How different is your preparation for a national vs international competition?

Marjo: Preparation is the same, it is the feeling the can be different, as sometimes you have more people attending, and cameras on you even during warm-up.
But we manage our preparation the same way, a competition is a competition.

I: What is coming next

Zack: Getting ready for Junior Worlds, improve our skating and showing it there.

Just dropping by to congratulate Majorie and Zachary on skating two avery solid programs at junior worlds. I thought the Fd scores where a little harsh in comparison to the other top team’s scores, although I may or may not be a tad biased towards L & L . All that aside 4th place is nothing to complain about! It’s still a fantastic showing as well as an improvement on last years worlds placement. This is the first time I really got into their fd, there was an air of subtly and they seemed really calm, collected, and confidence and I thought it translated into the vibe of the program very well!aAgain Congrats to M an Z!
