I wanted Wakaba in the final so badly. But unless something crazy happens at SA it’s probably impossible now :(

Tiiiime for a power list!!
1) Zhenya. Says her injury isn't serious, still wins with 2 mistakes. Invincible Zhenya!
2) Alina. Two wins! And she has won over Masha, Kaetlyn, Wakaba, and Mai.
3) Wakaba. Robbed of silver at Rostelecom Cup, she is still insane when she's on even if she doesn't make the final.
4) Maria. Two silvers, consistent tanos, and a well-known coach. I love her skating.
5) Kaetlyn. Overscored, yes. Consistent in FS for messing up but her SP is divine.
6) Polina. She can move up after SA in the list if she wins, which she's likely to do. Ashley hasn't scored 210 in a while (worlds 2016 I think) which was Polina's GP debut score.
7) Mai. Underscored in both of her events. She's a wonderful skater and wonderful to watch.
8) Mirai. Yes, she hasn't had the best GP series, but she's the leading US lady right now I'd say. Fourth at NHK is a huge accomplishment even if Ashley got a bronze (with ten points less!)
9) Elena. Not onto her old form but still a joy to watch. Bronze at CoC is a huge accomplishment.
10) Satoko. She's wonderful and her skating is just superb in everything but she's only been jumping for a few weeks now. She has a chance at SA to get the silver or bronze but I think that Polina will win.

Oh yeah, I forgot Kostner. The way I can forget her bland, overscored programs? Yes, yes.
I don't really know where to rank her. I'd like to rank her 9 or 10 on here but the judges think otherwise.

Wakaba wasn’t robbed, she gets the correct medal, because Kostner was better in the SP and the LP.
You can’ Forget Kostner, she will be on the last group of the ladies event, I know that.
Keep focus.

I would have loved to see Wakaba in the final as well - but on the other hand, this will mean she will be more rested & ready for the real fight: Japanese Nationals.

You think Ashley has a huge chance to win SA?? Over Tsurskaya who just got 210 at NHK? When was the last time Ashley scored that high, even at home?
I also don't think Ashley can be considered a medal favorite at this point...

Honestly she has a shot, she’s in The US and if she can rotate she’s always a factor... don’t count her out yet she’s got more left in her than you may think

All the skaters are fantastic! Zhenya has a little blip and panic? Geez. The Russian girls are fun to watch in their thirst for skating well and earning their spot to Olympics. Wow what pressure they live in. Kostner bland and forgettable? You need to educate yourself thoroughly and quickly what the ultimate is in skating, learn what QUALITY is, even if for only your own enjoyment watching skating. The Grand Prix Final can be a disaster for some or a slam dunk. From the result they can feel invincible or more determined than ever or defeated. No one knows how it will pan out on Olympic ice. Med will be fine and reputation and politics majorly on her side. But my oh my the pressure. The rest? Incredible to watch these skaters gut it out. Each Japanese skater is so unique and hard working. Miyahara gets slammed for her jumps, so ok, but what about appreciating her extraordinary artistry?
Let's celebrate how great they all are and wish for all to be healthy. They put so much into this, hours days months years of incredible effort. Have you in your lives done what they do? It's a brutally difficult sport, I hope they all have the skate of their lives. And god bless Gracie, may she be happy again. Don't you see what internet bullying can do? Hope for everyone to be healthy and happy and for those that don't skate and any one sitting on a chair that throws shade, why? Why do you need to hurt them? I wrote some slams out of automation and anger, then erased them realizing I'd rather be the person that supports than bullies to any degree.

Really great and informative!!
I don't think Eunsoo Lim or Elisabetta Leccardi are age-eligible, if that's what you were hoping to include :)

Oh wow I thought Elisabetta was younger than she was!

(30) KAZ #2 ???

Aiza Mambekova is the only other Kazakh skater besides Tursynbaeva to currently have the TES minimums. Though she's apparently dealing with injury right now so I'm not sure if she'll be ready to compete by February.

Thanks fro the info!
Somewhat off-topic, but come to think of it, with the depth of the Russian ladies over the last few years, I'm actually surprised we haven't seen some of them switch countries. Let's see IF the Russian olympic team includes Medvedeva, Zagitova, and either Sotskova or Tsurskaya, that means that Russia will leave home FOUR active world championship medalists: Tuktamysheva (2015 gold), Radionova (2015 bronze), Pogorilaya (2016 bronze), Leonova (2012 silver). Granted, this would be an even more impressive stat if they were all skating at or near the level of those medal performances (only exception is Leonova, who is skating better now). With a new wave of Russian ladies soon to invade the senior ranks, I wonder if we will see a wave of country-switching after the olympics.
