What to do, what to do...I have no experience driving in snow or ice. So I guess driving is out. Maybe take the train? Don't airports close in blizzards?

Ting Cui for the win!!! Please, Ting!!! So much talent. Or a new and improved Starr. Or a Amber Glenn finally finding out how amazing she really is. Any of these three.

The Exhibition will be in the evening. I would advise against trying to fly out that night if you want to go to the ex.

Got an email this morning saying the pre-sale will start 10am EST on April 25, with a pre-sale code attached.

I'd rather see some hotel listings first.

When I was making my decision to go or not, there were two casinos that were fairly close. Other than that, I have to wonder about official hotels and shuttles. I got the pre-sale notice also but have decided to take a cruise ship out of Florida for Points south and the Panama Canal. Its about the same money only warmer.....

No new news about Four Conts, BTW. Looking forward to Skate America very much as well as Four Conts.

(Very Happy for y'all that they will return the Jr. Shorts to the main arena!)

Chris who saw his first 70 degree day in 200 days today...its been along winter....

Wish they could pick a place where the weather isn't so bad. It's miserable trying to get anywhere.

Detroit is actually reasonably close to me, but I'm saving up for Montreal 2020.

Just booked a room at the Double Tree from 1-24 to 1-28. Says the walk is 1.2 miles. That could be a mighty cold walk, but I really don't want to have to rent a car! I believe the Crowne Plaza shows that they have some kind of local shuttle. Whether or not that means they would drop people off at the arena, I don't know. Going to check further. Room is cancellable up until the 22nd.

ETA -- Was doing a little reading and see that downtown Detroit has a people mover. I don't think it stops right by the arena, but it sounds like it goes within an 8-10 minute walk of it. That might have possibilities!

Nationals and Worlds in Boston - I've done winter weather. I'm a California girl. Fortunately Worlds was beautiful weather until the day after the competition when we planned on sight-seeing. Have decided our forays into skating competitions will have to be west of the Rockies!

I know the Detroit skating club is very strong and they probably deserve the event - but........

From what I’ve found, it’s better to buy tickets early because it’s easier to get good seats!

Update: July 16 is on-sale date for Championship Weekend packages for U.S. Nats, per USFS e-mail today.

Championship Weekend Package – … ticket to the all senior-level free skates plus the short programs for the men & pairs. There is no access to practice sessions. This package goes on sale July 16 and pricing starts at $220 each.

Single-session – ... This ticket gets you into one session of your choice and does not include access to any practice sessions or other events. Single-session tickets will go on sale in late September and pricing varies by session and seat location.

    And BTW:

    For Skate America:

Single-session tickets go on sale late August and will start at just $25.

    For Four Continents:

Limited all-session tickets remain and start at $399 each. If tickets remain in October, single-session tickets will be made available.

Here's ice coverage with all the excellent info as usual! Glad I held out - the weekend tickets are almost exactly as I budgeted for this time. I'll be sad to miss practices but I'm sure I'll live

I'm currently booked at the MotorCity Casino - anyone else?
