I would love to see P/C dance to parts of the Carmina Burana (yes, I know Anessina/ Peizerat did that in 2000, so it's not original). I love the Carmina, and I think only these two could do it justice. Better even than their countrymen (and that was good). It's a difficult piece and I've seen many dance versions. Not so many ice dance versions. Why not the version used for one of my favourite films, Excalibur?

As an opera lover, I would just be totally flabbergasted (in a very positive way) if one of the singles men or women would go for Suor Angelica by Puccini. Hardly ever used (if ever) in FS, but such a moving piece of music. Carolina could manage it I think, as would Adam Rippon. It's terribly sad, so the skater should be able to put a lot of emotions into it.

Considering pairs (and I'm not actually putting forward specific skaters), after this years beautiful, lyrical, danceable, programmes by the numbers 1 and 2, I would perhaps prefer a modern piece. Billy Jean and Dirty Diana - both by the incredible Michael Jackson.

Haha, but I'll also go for Doctor Who and the long, dark Dalek night, Star Wars The Last Jedi or any other science fiction sound track!

Javier Fernández —any program. I just want him to not retire; he could skate to 4,33 of John Cage for all I care.

I doubt he stays. He stated that he wanted to go on a high note and he didn't want to drop in world ranking (or something to that effect?)
That Quijote will stay with me forever, he's done his dues.

Evgenia - soundtrack from Spirited Away
Alina - Glass symphony 1
Mirai - Medley from Wicked
Bradie - Wagner Ring of Fire - Pilgrims Chorus
Ashley - Copland Appalachian Spring
Polina Edmunds - Khachaturian Spartacus
Polina Tsurtskaya - Sweet child o'mine - knocking on heavens door
Kaori - Piazzola's Fuga y Misterio
Mai - Adagio from the Sunshine soundtrack
Kaetlyn - Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1
Gaby - Brahms 4th symphony.

I'm inspired on ladies at the moment :p

P/C, Shoma Uno, Jason Brown, Satoko Miyahara, Yuzu, and Sui/Han take your pick!

Menu:
Phantom Thread soundtrack
Last of the Mohicans soundtrack (Promentory)
Reverie (by Debussy)
Symphony No 9 (Beethoven -- same arrangement in Machida's FS)
Game of Thrones soundtrack
Pan's Labyrinth soundtrack

Ohhhhh I would love to see someone do Reverie by Debussy. I'd say give it to Med, but honestly I want her to tackle something more along the lines of her Kukushka ex this season. Dark and dramatic looks good on her. But hey, I guess that's why there are two programs! I'd also be open to Shoma doing a reverie skate if he brings back more of his intricate footwork. I think Aliev might also have the emotional range to try it, based on his free from this season.

Honestly though, in general, I want to see more musical experimentation, especially among the ladies. Try new moods and styles! Have fun on the ice! Give us some drama! Engage the audience! Pretty and elegant is nice, but when everyone does it it all starts to blend together during a long competition...

There isn't enough video game music appreciation in the figure skating world. And with VGM I mean modern VGM, not thirty-year-old Mario or PacMan bleeps (although those are rather fun, too). There are *so* many kinds of VGM to choose from, covering just about every musical genre in existence.
Heck, betcha didn't know that Yuzuru Hanyu's "The Final Time Traveler" exhibition program is also VGM.

Barring that, some anime music by, for instance, Yuki Kajiura would also be amazing.

A piano&violin arrangement to the Halo Theme has been used in gymnastics. It could work in a SP.

I’d love to see some more men trying either some closer to tango/Latin programs or some more piano music programs and NOT warhorse tangos or anything modern rhythymized, maybe some more tango jailhouse or Shoma’s 16-17 FS music (I believe it’s called Loco?) another good piece that isn’t used enough imo is the nightmare before Christmas. I’m gonna stop rambling and make a wish list....

Wish list:
Yuzu:Lord of the rings or the hobbit
Shoma: Mambo 5
Boyang:The adams family (Comedy gold)
Nathan:Gladiator....?
Alina:Jumping jack (The more appropriate half of Trusova’s SP)
Kaetlyn: Turandot or Tango Jailouse
Evgenia:Something upbeat that’s not classical (Prince...?)
Satoko:Schindler’s list (very unlikely because of politics, but still I’m sure it would be masterful)
S/H:To build a home
T/M:Kevin Reynolds’ current FS (something like a march for peace, says sanctus a lot)
Y/Z:Kodo japense drums
J/C: Choral arrangement of Gloria....?
P/C:Viva la vida or something else by Coldplay
Shibs:pilgrims on a long journey
H/D: Imagine dragons medley or blues for klook

This is a long list... let’s see if one of these actually gets achieved, although I doubt it :/

After Olympic season, here are some musical choices slightly out of left field for the skaters but which I think they could hit out of the park.

P/C - Drehz - Heart Cry
S/H - Celine Dion - Calling You
Evgenia Medvedeva - Mary Lambert - Body Love
Alina Zagitova - The Irrepressibles - In This Shirt
Satoko Miyahara - Elmer Bernstein - To Kill A Mockingbird Theme
Yuzuru Hanyu - Luis Bravo - Tanguera
Boyang Jin - Fred Astaire - Stepping Out With My Baby

I know it's another discipline but the short dance will be tango next year so I hope that there won't be too many other tango programs. I think the post-Olympic season is a good time for skaters to get out of their comfort zones and experiment with different styles. I would like to see skaters present some out of the box modern programs (such as when V/M did pink floyd in 2009) and some broadway programs that are not Les Mis and Phantom of the Opera.

Eugene Onegin for P/C or W/P. It would be right in V/M's wheelhouse but they are retiring.

Porco Rosso, madness theme, for Yuzuru.
Pacific rim theme for Nathan or Savchenko/Masssot.

A game of thrones program from one of the frontrunners. That music has so much potential. Maybe for Alina? She's fierce.

I’d like to see Satoko Miyahara tackle a piano piece again. Something that has both fast moments and slow moments, like Moonlight Sonata, but since we’ve seen a lot of that already, how about Fantasie Impromptu?

My favorite piece of music. Would never work for a program. But if anyone could make it work....

Uno:
I agree that video games need more love, and he’s already admitted to being One of Us on the gamer front. There are thousands of remixes of this piece (including orchestral); admit it, it’s right in his wheelhouse: dramatic, full of energy, and dark. (Meguro is a genius.) (The bombast truly begins around the :52 second mark, for those who want to skip the intro.)

If he did a program to this, I might actually die (not that my death is especially hard to achieve):

I wasn’t a huge fan of the game in question, but there’s a ton of Japanese-themed music due to plot reasons, and it would be interesting to see Uno using a lighter piece after this season:

Matteo Rizzo:
Look, somebody has to do this for me, and Rizzo clearly has no problem with using lyrics or crowd-pleasing songs... make it work, BabyMaleCaro!

Vincent Zhou:
I don’t care that he skates to emo-kid music. I care that he picks bad emo-kid music, and my former emo-self is judging him. Hard.

If he can carry this song, he’s fully matured as a skater. (Side note: Matt Good is an interesting guy, and he responded to my fan message by complimenting my writing. Canadians are awesome.)

Nathan Chen:
Admit it: this would be one hell of a short program, especially post-OWG.

Non-quad heavy layout only:

(I was a cellist. Don’t know why, but I feel like the cello is a good fit for him.)

... probably more later.

I'd love to see some less warhorse-type classical music, the main problem being that I suspect a lot of it is just too challenging. I'd love to see more Mozart, Bach and baroque music but as I mentioned, I think that the challenge of this music is why P/C and Miyahara along with a small list of others are the only ones who have attempted this. There's also Georgian chanting, choral music. In both cases you need someone with a lot of presence on ice but there are definitely skaters who I think could do it. I'd love to see someone like P/C or Miyahara take on the challenge of Billie Holiday and for someone skate a real character piece to Mack the Knife that isn't the Buble version. In short, I'd love to see more unusual classical music added to the repertoire. Yuna's Danse Macabre is one of my favourites of all time in part because of how well she handled the challenge of the difficult music and what the music was consequently able to bring to her performance.
