I just watched Denis' Christmas on Ice EX on TV and it was the most wonderful thing! I thought why on earth is his EX so much more interesting than his SP? --Anyway, watch the EX, it's great.

Denis withdrew from Torun's competion this week,(6 Jan-10 Jan) which just like what he did last year. Who know the reason? Is it still because of his hip injury? His coach said he has severe injuries this season. That injury began from summer, and it lasted for several months, but it still seem not recovered at all. :sad21:

This unfortunate thing had already cost Denis's Grand Prix Series, will it cost him the whole season? I'm quite pessimistic about his future in this season.

Well, maybe he needs to spend more time on something else, since this is just the beginning of the New Year. Between the grand prix series and until recently, he participated in two competitions and one show, so he might need a time to rest and to get together with his family. I'm sure he will manage his health in a good form up until 4CC or Worlds.

I have always it would be rough to do any competition too soon after the holidays. I'm sure Denis will be in great shape to repeat his 4CC title.

I wouldn't worry about this particular withdrawal. I have a feeling he overbooked in case he needed another competition, but things went well at Golden Skate. Just as they did last year. So perhaps he feels he can be ready for 4CC's without another small competition. He just got home from touring with Christmas on Ice in Japan. If the injury was a big issue, I doubt he would have toured. And if he had really been planning to compete, he would have been cutting things pretty close. I'm guessing the competition has been off his personal schedule for a while.

Yes,what you guys said are quite reasonable. But he said on Dec 30 (at a news conference in Astana), he planned to take competition in January. And for Golden Spin of Zagreb, he obviously still struggled with his lutz, he changed his combination jump from 3lz3t to 4t3t in SP probably because his 3lz always can't get enough rotation this season, which maybe caused by his left hip injury, I guess. After the long program, his expression on the face seems very painful. Did you guys notice that?

I hope so, but Shoma and Boyang are so great this season, especially Shoma, his PCSs are quite high and some specialists believed his programs deserved higher PCSs than Denis's. Besides there are too many opponents, such as Han Yan, ,Nam Nguyen,Jason Brown, even Nathan Chen.

I love that there's at least one person who still considers Han Yan as tough opponent  For me Denis doesn't have to prove anyone anything, so winning 4CC isn't "must have" IMO. As long as he skates clean I'll be happy :) Btw. I'm also happy that 4CC Men field will be so strong, it's going to be interesting to watch

I'm glad that if Ten is going to go Romeo & Juliet, he is doing the Prokofiev version. Romeo & Juliet has always seemed to be a dark story to me. I have always felt that the Nino Rota version was too "romanticized" for my taste.

If he is going to put 3 quads in the LP at worlds, I am glad he has 4CCs to attempt it first.

Why???? I love his FS...dark but dramatic and unique. Of course whatever music he chooses, his interpretation to music will be special, but Romeo and Juliet...

I almost missed the new info about his first attempt on 3 quads in FS.

His R&J will be amazing, but I will miss his misa tango a lot;(
