UNITED STATES FIGURE SKATING ASSOCIATION ENDORSES PRINCIPLES OF THE WORLD SKATING FEDERATION
Executive Committee approved unanimously by a vote of 8-0
The World Skating Federation (WSF), a new, international figure skating organization, received a unanimous 8-0 endorsement of its principles from the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) at the USFSA Executive Committee meeting of March 25, 2003.

According to the Report of Action of that meeting, as the first item on the meeting agenda, the Executive Committee:

"APPROVED that the USFSA Executive Committee endorses the principles of the World Skating Federation, including: Athlete and Coach representation, Geographic representation, Transparency, Ethics, Accountability, Integrity, and Zero Tolerance. (8 Yes)"

The USFSA's endorsement of WSF principles was announced by WSF co-founder Jon Jackson at the WSF press conference of March 25, 2003. At that press conference, Jackson said: "I am pleased to announce the first endorsement by a member federation of the principles of the World Skating Federation: the United States Figure Skating Association, which only hours ago gave us their support."

Ron Pfenning, WSF Acting President stated: "We are pleased to receive the unanimous endorsement from the USFSA Executive Committee and expect other national figure skating governing bodies will follow suit."

How interesting. Three days ago the USFSA wouldn't have anything to do with the WSF.
