Marina Piredda is a figure skater from Italy. She was born in Cavalese on Sep 28, 2002.

    Coach: Joanna Szczypa
    Choreographer: Francesca Cotogni

She was third at the last italian junior nationals, past Beccari and Gutmann, but then she has won the Dragon Trophy and the Egna Spring Trophy, beating Gutmann before, but also Harrell and Tornaghi at Egna.

The JGP debut wasn't good for her, but now she has upgrade the technical content of her programs, adding the 3Lz, and won the "1° Gara Nazionale fascia Elite" with a good score, better then the one from Beccari on the senior competition of the same event.

You can see the programs here:

The only relevant mistake was that single axel on the free.

    Not bad

Good! With 2A and Eu-3S in the free she might have got 170+. Her 2A is very nice. Is she working on a 3-3?

Still haven't found some single videos about her performances on this junior nationals, but wasn't their best of the season, regardless of the clear victory

We need to say, anyway, that the other better italian juniors were at the senior competition.

Regardless of that, she has improved again the layout, performing this time the combo 2A Eu 3S, adding also a 3Lz, over the previous single 3T.

    Her new layout:

    2A+1Eu+3S
    3Lz
    3F
    2A
    -
    3Lz+2T
    3T+2T
    3S

The 3F was doubled this time, but after gained some consistency, the next step is clearly a 3-3 combo.

I dunno if we have a chance to see her again on the biggest junior competitions of this season, considering the performances of Tornaghi and Beccari. Both three have improved a lot since the starting of the season.

Great senior debut, and first win, for Marina at the Mentor Torun Cup.
Not only that, but she also have gain the minimum TES scores for the Worlds.

A clean skate on the short and only one mistake on the free.
This time she missed the first triple lutz of the free, but everything else was rock-solid.
The first combo and the steps were really good.

So far she's the best of potential contenders for the Worlds spot (and probably the only one with TES minimum?).

Slight OT: I found that her coach is a former Polish skater who's in Italy for more then 30 years now (and the coach's brother is a fs coach too)

I was really impressed to see her with such an energy. And her jumps were all rotated and well done. She should get some more milage in senior competitions to get the attention of the federation. Gud luck and I hope to see her in Japan

Her constantly growing scores throughout the season, her impressive performances, and now, first senior competition, gold medal and min TES for Worlds.
Her spot in team Italy for Saitama is practically lock.

    Good Worlds debut

A little mistake, very low PCS... things that can happen without reputation and experience.

Marina won the bronze medal at the 2019 Egna Spring Trophy. In the OP you can find links to her both programs.

She missed it at the Worlds, so i was a bit afraid about it.

It's still her newest jump element, after all.
