Jutta Müller was a coach in the former German Democratic Republic. She earned 57! titles as a coach, including the two gold medals Katharina Witt won at the Olympics. Her city, Chemnitz, honored her with a reunion of all her skaters. Together they watched an exhibition where their old choreographies were brought to life again. Also there is a movie about her life which will be shown next sunday on the German channel MDR called Die Eiskönigin from Chemnitz, which is already available on lifestream. You can watch it here.

It was a very touching documentary with a lot of historical information from the 60ties until now.

Probably the first coach whose name I knew as Katarina Witt was my favourite skater when I was a kid :)
Die Eiskönigin indeed.

When I watched old videos she kind of gave me the creeps. Kind of like the "old" movies you watch and the fear of Communism of course now the wall has come down but she commands attention. Maybe it was the harsh hairstyles and all those bad stereotypes.
