Dr. Wolf-Dieter Montag


Dr. Wolf-Dieter Montag passed away on July 21, 2018 at the age of 93.

Born on December 10, 1924, Dr. Montag was a specialist in orthopedic sports medicine.

He has served as Chair of the ISU Medical Advisors from May 1976 until May 1984 and as President of the ISU Figure Skating Member, Deutsche Eislauf-Union e.V., from 1980 to 1998. He was also a member of the IOC Medical Commission and served in both Winter and Summer Olympics.

Two ISU judges passed away this year:
Sylvain Guibord (Canada, 42 year old) and
Walter Zuccaro (Italy, former member of ISU Ice Dance Technical Committee. 69 years old)
