I'd like to see an Aussie guy take on The Man From Snowy River, such a beautiful score from that film.

I came across this thread again and I just had to post some more😂:

Mariah Bell: Rhapsody in Blue

Bradie Tennell: Experience (Ludovico Einaudi)

Satoko Miyahara: Stella’s theme(I was hoping someone would use it after Alena did!)

Mai Mihara: Adios Nonino

Wakaba Higuchi: Black Swan

Gabby Daleman: Summertime

It's almost that time of year (okay maybe not quite but close enough), when we start to hear people's choices for next season's programs :yahoo: Post your hopes and dreams here--bonus points if they come true!!

Hubbell/Donohue:
FD: A Chorus Line :dance3: I remember Madison mentioning something about Fosse in the K&C or something at Nationals in passing. I actually think this would be so awesome on them. Madison would make a perfect Cassie!!! If not Chorus Line, any Fosse would be great (just no Chicago, plz)

Fosse didn't choreograph A Chorus Line. Michael Bennett and Bob Avian did.

I really want Alena to use Cinema Paradiso by William Joseph for her FS! She would suit it so much

I also want Anna or Alina to skate to Nutcracker Pas De Deux

There are so many other pieces of classical music I want people to skate to but I don’t know who, lol [emoji23] here are a few:
- An Invincible Summer by Kerry Muzzey / The Architect
- Jupiter / The Planets (not the one Satoko skated to)
- June, Transit of Venus by Joby Talbot
- Lion Theme by Dustin O’Halloran

These are all pieces that I don’t think anyone has used yet. I don’t know any songs with lyrics I’d like people to skate to; I’m a classical music bot [emoji23]

My dream music choices:

Trusova: Requiem for a dream or the Montagues and Capulets (from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet)

Zagitova: Danse Macabre! (I really just want someone to skate to this again)

Shcherbakova: Ave Maria, I can already see her floating across the ice to it, and also The Swan by Saint-Saens for a short program

Kostornaia: The Godfather, a mix between the love theme and the main theme, and then for a short program Oblivion by Piazolla or Malaguena

Your suggestion for Bradie is perfect. I think if she were to go full witch and wanted to try something a bit smoother but that still works with her jagged angular style Dark Secret by Mathew Sweet (https://youtu.be/WP7GAad2T5o) from The Craft soundtrack.

As for Ice Dance I’d never heard of Lambeth Walk before and I think I’d be a great choice. For Fear & Gibson I was also thinking along those lines with my suggestion being medley’s from Oliver!, Bedknobs & Broomsticks, Mary Poppins or Singing in the Rain (especially this song: https://youtu.be/byAfC5yW_hw). They’re such a joyful team so they’re so lucky that it’s this RD theme next season, I hope they take advantage of it.

I also thought Eunsoo Lim would fit Plastic 100C by Sampha (This version is a bit slower than the original but the original isn’t on yt: https://youtu.be/kyei9tuS_M8) but it might be a bit to “current” and would require a bit of stamina.

I would love to see Bradie skate to the Queen of the Night aria. Or something like The Chairman Dances by John Adams.

For Papadikas and Cizeron, I think an interesting gala number would be incorporating part of Knee Play 5 (Two Lovers) from Einstein in the Beach. It would complement their ethereal style.

Interesting to see that despite the constant complaining about warhorses on this forum (I'm guilty of that too),
when given the freedom to choose absolutely any kind of skating music without the pressure of whether it would make a good program,
quite a number of people go for warhorses anyway.

I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just surprised, as I thought most of the fans here were fed up hearing the same music over and over and it seems the actual percentage might be much lower than I assumed.

I love me some Wagner and would be thrilled to see some good programs choreographed to his music, but unfortunately I don't think his compositions are very skating friendly.
They need some time to build up to the big climax and it would be pretty difficult to cut them into a program with all it requires.

I've been thinking about the Tannhäuser overture, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg overture or Lohengrin a lot, but I'm not sure how it would work.:scratch2:
I'd love to see it though!

I think the Ride of the Valkyries is doable as is Liebestod (which has actually been done), so we can dream.;)

OK, and while I'm at it, here is my classical wish list:

Schubert - Fantasy in F Minor
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMM8NxvoG3M

Debussy - Valse Romantique (why not use e.g. this instead of Clair de Lune for the 98465134615153@#^^%&^% time?!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGYGRtnYX0c

Liszt - Hungarian Rhapsody no.12
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exOz0Lzx5NA

Haydn - Cello Concerto No. 1 (e.g. adagio)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPlDGZ2A0Gs

Tchaikovsky - Polonaise from Eugen Onegin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR9P82WbQug

Donizetti - Don Pasquale overture
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hITVvvRTrMA

Chopin - piano concertos no.1 and no.2 (so much amazing music to choose from!)

Beethoven:
Symphonies no.3, 6, 7, 9 (preferably not the last movement as the others deserve some recognition too;))
Emperor piano concerto
Piano sonatas: Appassionata, 3rd mov. of Tempest, Pathetique, Waldstein or even my favorite late sonatas no. 30, 31, 32, if cut well...(simply anything BUT the Moonlight!!!)
Violin sonata no. 9 "Kreutzer"

Etc., etc.

I think I submitted a very similar list several years ago, but my wishes have not been granted (as far as I know)

i think siegfried funeral and Tannhäuser ouverture could be cut keeping at least partially the climax, the time for build it would be shorter but it's still doable (we're talking about long programs of course)

Next season, I would like Weaver/Poje to use the cast recording of Bridges of Madison Country for the RD. I could see them do a waltz to “What Do You Call a Man Like That” and then end with “Alway Better.”

Oh yeah, that would be a good one too!:agree:

Some other ideas:

Puccini - Manon Lescaut Intermezzo (another warhorse potential!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZf0JHbrtpg

Schubert - Ständchen (I would prefer the intrumental version for a program)

how could i forget Ständchen? it's absolutely perfect for a sp (i can see one of the koreans girls skating on it), also i'd like to see the trio op. 100 (in a barry lyndon program)

about puccini, nobody skates on vissi d'arte, we've got thousands of programs on e lucean le stelle (and nessun dorma but that's turandot) but nobody wants to portray floria tosca in her iconic aria (also when a men performs cavaradossi it's always on e lucean le stelle never on recondita armonia). in my opinion satoko miyahara could be great on vissi d'arte (or bellini's casta diva with maria callas's voice of course)

Sierra Venetta’s SP at this year’s US Nationals was to Emperor piano concerto. Nathan had Chopin piano concerto no.1 FS for the 2014-15 season.
