Update of Zhang Hao and Yu Xiaoyu:

Zhang Hao had a soft tissue infection three months ago and had two surgeries on his right leg. He is planning to compete next week in the inter-club league.

Their LP:https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=Mz...483&idx=1&sn=5f001e82b9355a357d56878a7489c1e3

From the video, it looks like Zhang’s recovery is progressing well. It seems like there will be competition for the third Chinese pair spot with Zhang on the mend, Wang/Wang finally being healthy, the rising junior team, and Chelsea Liu’s new pairing. I am selfishly rooting for Yu/Zhang because I have missed seeing Xiaoyu on the ice, and her costume alone deserves to be seen in international competition.

Zhang Yixuan did great in her LP today

2A1Eu3S 3Lo 3Lz2T 3S || 3Lz 3T(hands down)1T 2A (She can do 3F in practice but just not stable enough to put in the LP)

video:https://weibo.com/2837343875/I2ESry4RI

Her jumps have very good height. Also this is her first time to do a Biellmann spin in two years, she had some back injury before.

Here are some clips and resumes from this week's Chinese regionals: https://www.bilibili.com/video/av64287979/

Unless you are capable of reading Hanjing, best not to touch anything with your mouse on this page except for the listing P1 etc at the right.
Every picture, word etc is scripted and will give you a pop-up or whatever.

Of course Team China wants to put its best blade forward coming 2022 Olympics, so following their progress is going to be very interesting.

About the music used, mostly very generic, non-descript quasi Western classical/romantic music.li
Team China perhaps still a bit struggling with establishing their overall 'image'.

I sense a good business opportunity for 'western' choreographers here. Later perhaps, once the Olympic skaters have been identified and grouped together for their final stagings in 2021?

Her mom recently uploaded videos of her competitions on YT.
Didn't know she was a rhythmic gymnast as well (and of a high level too)! How do they manage to develop 2 disciplines at this level at the same time at 12 almost 13?
This girl has some real talent!

And from the videos, did I get it correctly that she's being coached by Boyang Jin's coach, who coincidentally is also her dad?
Well, if that's the case, Boyang quality quad lutz is coming!

p.s. I'm amazed by her spread eagle 2A, looks like it can easily become a 3A!
I think she's potentially behind some skaters like Akatyeva, who is younger and already has 3A and 4T, on the other hand, it looks like Xiangyi's spending a lot of her time on rhythmic gymnastics and still manages to have great ss (for her age), spins and big jumps at this age, while not being a full-time skater?
I wonder what could happen if her parents decided to focus on skating full-time!

Actually, An’s coach is her dad, not Jin’s coach.
But they are training at the same skating club, Century's Star, It could be highly possible that Jin's coach would give some pieces of advice to An.

Okay... I just saw her mom posted that she and Boyang train together and on other video she was saying she hates her dad, who's making her do handstands  :laugh2:
But if they train at the same rink, it sure looks like Boyang's coach could also be helping her in the future!

Rumor says she's mainly trained by her mom :p

She is promising, hope she stays healthy.

Her dad was a student of Jin's Coach and they are sharing the same rink. I think she may get some technical support from Jin's Coach.
She is currently home-schooled so she can have more time pactice. Her RG coach also train her at the rink's gym.
About her skating skills, she improved a lot after benoit richaud trained her.

Strange how Cup of China put Boyang at the side of their poster and Vincent Zhou at the middle. You know most GP fed would put their star home skaters at the centre and not a foreign rival skater. They do realise that even though he looks Chinese, he doesnt skate for China right.https://www.instagram.com/p/B1tm1sdHtAT/

Vincent is not exactly in the middle. Sui and Han are right in the middle :)

By the way, the question is so awkward. Why would she ask about his weight...

I don't know if we can really call it rumors. Her mother said as much in this interview back in 2017: (https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/YKGQLXycmht41FK73n1bEw).

She says, "Actually, the main person responsible for Nini's (An Xiangyi's nickname) training is me. Her father can only give Nini a few lessons a week. So the technical instructions and guidance is completed by him, but I am in charge of all the other training time".

There have also been reporting in the past on weibo, from people who visit her rink, about people seeing her mom directing and shouting at her from the sideboards. It's slightly concerning since in the same interview, her mother admits she is only a FS fan, which means she has zero training or experience herself. I'm sure things are done with consultation of Nini's father, but the entire interview is still slightly eyebrow raising for me. If anyone's interested in a translation, I can do it, but otherwise I think Google translate get most of the gist of it.

Personally, the only thing I got out of the interview was that Nini's mother is a super FS fan, who is imposing her dreams on her daughter and is now trying to live vicariously through her. Granted, that was back in 2017, and since then it is a fact that they have been getting outside help in giving Nini more training in all aspects. Benoit visits China frequently, and Nini's lessons with him have improved her SS by a lot. BOrser has also helped her when he visited China over the summer. The results are quite evident, so hopefully this means her mother has taken more of a back seat, though I doubt it.

Either way, she's a super promising skater for China. I look forward to her development. If she keeps healthy, she should be the #1 female skater in China without a doubt.

However, she really needs to cut back on the extracurricular activities outside of skating, because holy cow let the kid have fun sometimes. She competes in Rhythmic Gymnastics, but if you watch her channel on Bilibili, she also does jazz dancing, modern dancing, Chinese Classical dancing, and Chinese ethnic folk dancing. She sometimes even do performances of them. It's quite too much imo.

Ilia Yukhimuk is already on IcePartnerSearch, so his team with Yuhan Feng didn't work
