I won't be able to watch the livestream for the JGP Courchevel because of a hospital appointment, but I still wanted to wish Team Canada good luck! :hap10:

Wow, thank you Siberia for the hard work. I dowloaded the ladies SP, and I have no account so I am not sure I can download other files. I speak French well enough to understand reading but I had problems understanding the types of downloading. I switched to English only to realize it made no difference. I can not understand the limit I have. Is is it one time ever (unless I change my IP) or once for a limited time.
I wishing you good health!

Ok I realized downloading works if you chose Download without SSL encryption (English) or Telecharger sans chiffrement SSL (French). The other option I guess is available if you have an account.

PS: I won't add another message, but I couldn't stop saying that this competition, was the a nightmare for Canadian fans. The only ones deserving a medal in Sataima were Piper and Paul. In women Aurora was after a hip fracture, Alaine had a confidence fracture, and Gabby, was much better than the recent past, but still far than her best. I limit myself to talk only about ladies as except dance we were generally in general recession.

Oh no, Iliya had a rough day at the office :( , but way to go Aleksa!

(But I have to be honest, I love Iliya's program a lot more even with the jump errors.)

Wow, thank you Siberia for the hard work.

You're very welcome. :)

I wishing you good health!

I won't bore you with the exact details, but my appointment had an unexpectedly scary moment! :eeking: Fortunately, the specialist was able to correct the problem on the spot, so I'm more or less okay now; just a little shaken and a bit tired.

I'm glad that the downloads work for you now.

Iliya's program is definitely a favourite of mine so far. Very well-tailored for him, and I hope we'll see it skated better in Russia.

Tomorrow will be really interesting, as far as junior dance goes. The only international junior event thus far was Lake Placid IDI, and we never got to see the protocols for that, so we'll soon see where the international panels think these teams are as far as the pattern goes. I think Emmy & Aissa, skating well, could realistically be anywhere from second to fourth when the dust settles.

:agree:

I strongly suspect the reason why Aleksa's skating style doesn't appeal to me is because he's coached by Joanne McLeod. :slink:

Same.

He could be great, you can see a natural elegance... but then the McLeod effect sets in.

Is this an official term among fs fans? I think I'll use it from now on.

But seriously, someone needs to rescue that boy from her grasp! :drama: He's young enough that another coach can still help him get on the right path, but if Aleksa sticks with her for too long...

I was asleep during the livestream (you can't blame me, it's Saturday morning :p ), but I've just looked at the results, and congratulations to Aleksa for winning the silver, which is his first JGP medal! :hap36: :party2: :gclap:

I can't find a video for the Men medal ceremony; is it going to take place later, or did Ted not upload it yet?

What's going on with Iliya? :sad21:

Anyone have any new news on Gabby Daleman? I’m eager to see her skate. I hope she’s feeling better.

She's very active on her Instagram. She had a late start to her jump training this season, due to her collision at her last competition. She's scheduled for Autumn Classic.

well... i no longer have a competition pass... i was given one last year by a generous member whom i ignore... but since the event is over... I NEED TO RANT!

I watched the junior FD.... I cannot believe the 2nd Russian team managed to get enough points to stay on the podium, instead of BB gadbois team, with a disaster of a FD like they had : bobbles on the twizzles, fall on the step sequence with several seconds to get back on track (which should be two deductions, not one), then bobbles on the lifts etc.... how did they get any sort of level for the steps, i wonder... i haven't seen the protocols yet but the point ticker was showing a level 3... yeah right!!! and positive GOE...

the 1st russians were clearly the best and should have won the RD as well... there is something wrong with the judging... and it reminds me way too well of previous french-russian judges anomalies there, i expressed my opinion...

fall on the step sequence with several seconds to get back on track
They didn't fall on the step sequence. They fell on transitions into the step sequence. It was a diagonal step, so it begins in the corner, which is where they picked up after the fall.

They would have, if not for the choreo deduction.

As for K/V versus B/B, Emmy and Aissa made mistakes of their own in the free dance, and would have won bronze if not for Emmy's stumble, so while my heart is with them, I don't think the ultimate result is a judging issue.

As I said over in the predictions thread, if you had told me before this event that Canada would win one medal, I would never have guessed Aleksa Rakic as the one -- he'd probably have been fourth of the five possibilities for me.

yeah.. they picked up after skating on two feet forever... they deserved another deduction ... and lower PCS. You are entitled to your opinion but nobody will convince me that the hot mess of k v deserved a bronze medal or near 90 points in the FD...

I think it's fair enough to think that B/B were better on the whole (as I said, I've been fans of them since last summer; in fact, I was the first person on this site to post a reference to them), but the question of the bronze to me falls into the grey zone, given the mistakes by both teams. My point was simply that the fall was not on the step sequence, so them receiving positive GOE for it was not a judging error.

oh.. i am not talking about a judging error .... i am saying it was fixed... :)
That would be pretty groundless. If you look at the RD, the judges were ready to put B/B on the podium; even with their serious twizzle error, they were third in PCS. And S/N would have been in first place in the RD if they hadn't gotten a costume violation.

There was absolutely some friendly judging for Demougeot/Le Mercier, but nothing beyond what would normally be expected for a prominent home team at one of these events.
