Getting a bit tired of Asher's referrals of some skaters as "hot". Okay Asher, can we just focus on, I don't know, skaters and their skating perhaps?

I watched it earlier and was happy to see them actually expressing opinions for a change.

Yeah, like in the rostelecom episode Dylan straight up says that being hot in ice dance.
I was just surprised because I thought after the David's infamous bathroom comments they'd be more careful but dylan and Asher were just like samarin was over scored and trusova can't do crossovers.

They also thought Tarasova/Morozov should have much higher PCS scores than the first-place pair. And they liked Aliev. So it wasn't like they criticized all Russian skaters.

No, they didn't criticize them all. I don't know, I'm glad they're sharing their opinion, I just wasn't expecting it, I guess. I didn't think they'd be negative about anyone

Maybe getting back her 3/3 that she had a few years back, being motivated by other top skaters and closer to the D. Wilson camp for touch ups, perhaps.

Well, KMT & Michael are halfway to the Grand Prix Final after the short program. We'll see if they can seal the deal in just a few hours. Shame about the flub on the side-by-side spin (there was a lot of that going around yesterday), otherwise they'd be further ahead of M/G.

I just woke up (I tried to get up early for the men's free skate, but it's Saturday and I stayed in bed), and I'M HYSTERICAL RIGHT NOW BECAUSE ROMAN WON HIS FIRST GP MEDAL!!!!!! :yahoo:

:hap57: He shattered his previous Personal Best score in this segment by 13.27 points, and his total score by 13.64!

Roman is one of the only a few highlights of the mens' night (or the day as I watched it). He has a lovely and quiet style and great skating skills. I too think it's debatable whether he should get a silver instead. Congratulations to his first GP medal and look forward to more of his gorgeous skating.

Roman is the first Canadian man to medal at NHK since Jeffrey Buttle won the event in 2003, believe it or not.

KMT & Michael make it through to the Final, and Nam ends up as first alternate after all the chaotic happenings in the men's event.

well... that's very easy to understand... Patrick wouldn't go to NHK ... simply because the way he placed at worlds, he just couldn't be at the same event as Dai or Yuzu... Patrick's first completed NHK was in 2006-07.. he was supposed to go in his last season but w/d

so, it's not surprising that Canadian men didn't medal there, considering pretty much only one canadian man was medaling on the circuit for all these years and wasn't going to japan..

what is fun though : in the last few years, if I am not mistaken, Roman, Nam, and Keegan (and Kevin Reynolds before he retired) all medaled on the GP circuit for the first time..
