siberia, many athletes don't manage their social media... or at least, do not manage all of it themselves... do not take this personally.

some accounts are limited in numbers, so sometimes it is done just to make room for "real life friends"

ps... as a fan, and that is not a critique, i do not feel i can "friend" skaters i don't know in real life... so i have 0 skating world friends on social media.... i wonder if it's a common practice for the skaters to accept fans' requests... and if yes, i can understand that at one point, they could purge...

regarding roman... do not forget that nam and roman had their own bromance a while back... i don't know if they are still friends but i doubt he's angry at roman... there is only one person who messed up his road to the title and it's him.. nothing to do with anyone else

I think Nam was recently on Romans vlog. Nam, Keegan and roman all seem really friendly and hillarious. The Canadian are well Canadian - nice guys, having a good time. They don't seem tohave the drama as some countries. From what I have seen on youtube Keegan and Nam are buds and Nam and Roman joke around a fair amount. It is really "endearing to see these boys around each other. Definitely not like Plushy and Yags or Evan and Johnny. They seem to genuinely have fun with each otherr whennot competing.

I hope that they are rewarded fairly, as they should be. Can you say, often overlooked and long overdue, versus other competitors in their field?

I think they are one of those teams that is constantly overlooked. Sadly they may have to be extra good to beat the Americans. They really need to show some personality and get a wow elemet. They are trying to improve the twist. They need or should upgrade the throw triple sal to say a flip or lutz and or change one ofthe solo umpsto a loop or flip maybe. GEtting level 4son stepsequences and death drops consistently would be helpful too.

Well I guess we know why Brooke and Brandon weren't assigned to JW. I saw on their coach's instagram (link below) that they're ending the partnership. Looks like Brandon will stop skating and focus on school, but Brooke would like to continue so they're looking for a new partner. If she doesn't find one, i won't be surprised to see her back in singles

I’m so disappointed. They were so great together.

I hope Brooke can find a new partner!

Sorry which Americans are you talking about?

MT/M have a seasons best 5pts higher then any American team. I also can’t remember the last time they lost to any American in a head to head??

Where can I watch the gala from Canadian Nationals? Has it not aired on TV yet? I think this program by Nam and Keegan was in the gala. I must see it up close, for gestures and facial expressions. :luv17:

Looks like a neat program to see in a decent video. The video would have been much better if they had turned the phone 90 degrees; a much better chance of getting both skaters in (or at least one) in the frame.

2018 NHK Trophy, when they finished less a point behind the Knierims.

So yes, they definitely are not underdogs against any American teams.

I was so surprised - and sad - to read about Brandon's retirement. I was very looking forward looking forward to seeing them grow together. All the best to Brandon with school and his future endeavors.

I feel for Brooke...this can't be easy for her. That said, I'm confident she'll find a partner, as she's got so many great qualities for a pairs lady, including the critical triple jumps. As a single skater, I have seen her land 3S, 3T and 3L.

On a different note, nice to see such a large Canadian contingent going to Bavarian Open, including seeing all four of our top junior dance teams.

I will miss Brandon most, with so much growth throughout his seasons and connection to the music, I think he could’ve really grown in the sport, but I wish him the best throughout his next journey.
I hope Brooke finds a partner that she can show connection with, I hate to see skating go more about the elements and lose the musicality connection, just as we are seeing the young ones with quads.
I hope the young pair girls growth keeps them petite.
I think the Bavarian Open will be an exciting event, and hoping they all surpass their personal bests, strange that Zachary and Patricia are not included, all the other Junior World athletes listed are going.

Avonley Nguyen and Vadym Kolesnik are going to BO as well. Interesting to see if D'Alessandro / Waddell can achieve at BO the N/K level scores which they were given at Canadian Nationals.

D/W were not given any scores at all at Canadian Nationals...

Anyone else still upset that Alicia Pineault did so poorly at nationals? I think if she were consistent that she’s the best Canada has to offer right now in ladies.
Is she going to 4CC?

Yes, she has been named to the 4CC team, as Madeline doesn't have the qualifying scores (looks like they may give Madeline the Jr Worlds if she can ger her qualifying scores at Bavarian Open).

The World team hasn't been named yet. If Emily gets her qualify scores, then one spot should rightfully be hers, but if she doesn't get it, then Alicia would, in my opinion, be next in line for the spot.

First, that was Challenge, and second, we know that they won't; domestic vs. international scoring, dude.

Sad to see Brandon retire, but he's at the age when everybody in pairs/dance has to decide whether they're going to commit for the next (say) eight years or get on with "real" life, and I'm sure he made the best choice for himself. Hopefully Evans will find Brooke a great new partner, because she's a real talent.

Her free was really unfortunate :/ had she not started popping everything in the middle I feel like she would've had a chance at higher podium positions without even being clean. Although I think that if everyone was clean Gabby Daleman is probably the best thing Canada has to offer.

D/W were not given any scores at all at Canadian Nationals...

My bad! they got those scores at CHALLENGE: GPF-medal level scores.

Of course, those scores were not quite at the same level as Gilles/Poirier who got Papadakis/Cizeron World Champion-eclipsing scores. In fact G/P's score of 225+ leads the current European Champion.....

Sorry, but I don't see the purpose of such extreme score inflation. At the US Champs, so far the biggest score inflation was for Alysa LIU, who received a total score 35 points higher than anything she has earned internationally---however, she has been skating JUNIOR all season and this was a SENIOR competition.
