The short program will be to “Bessarabia Gypsy Dance” from Igor Moiseev’s ballet, where he portrays a gypsy. The long program is to the Tchaikovski’s “Piano Concerto No. 2”. His long-time choreographer Anastasia Kazakova choreographed the short while Nikolai Morozov did the long program.

Here's wishing him lots of luck on his senior debut in the GP!!

What are your thoughts on this young skater?

I think he's demonstrated perseverance. Made the JGPF three seasons ago and then skated fairly steady (relative to the junior men) but couldn't quite get back there. I was quite happy for him at Junior Worlds. He has come up through the ranks against a lot of Russian junior guys that made a bigger splash--Aliev, Samarin, Erokhov--but Savosin kept at it, and he has improved his weaknesses. Still has a ways to go, but you can tell he has put in effort. He seems grounded. Best wishes to him this season.
