Dorota Siudek (née: Zagórska) (Polish pronunciation: [dɔˈrɔta (zaˈɡurska) ˈɕudɛk]) and Mariusz Siudek are former Polish pair skaters.
Dorota was born on 9 September 1975 in Cracow, Poland. Mariusz was born on 29 April 1972 in Oswiecim, Poland.
Dorota and Mariusz are the most acclaimed Polish figure skaters. They are the 1999 World bronze medalists, two-time European silver medalists (1999, 2000) and two-time European bronze medalists (2004, 2007). They also won nine national titles and multiple medals in the GP events (11 bronze and 2 silver medals) and other ISU events currently falling within the Challenger Series. They were the first Polish pair to medal at the World Championships. They also participated in three Olympic Games (1998, 2002 and 2006), their best result being the 7th position in Salt Lake City 2002.
Until 2003 they trained in Oswiecim under Iwona Chruscinska-Mydlarz. Then they moved to Montreal to train with Richard Gauthier.
They teamed up in 1994 and retired in 2007. Initially, they planned to retire after the 2005/06 season. However, they decided to compete one more season because the 2007 European Championships were assigned to Warsaw, Poland. It is when Zagórska began using her married surname, Siudek (Dorota and Mariusz married in 2000).
Upon retirement they started coaching in Torun, Poland. Among their students they can list Stacey Kemp / David King.
Mariusz Siudek is an ISU Technical Specialist in pairs for Poland.
