Maya Valentinovna Usova (Russian: Майя Валентиновна Усова, born 22 May 1964) and Alexander (Sasha) Viacheslavovich Zhulin (Russian: Александр Вячеславович Жулин (help·info), born 20 July 1963) are Russian ice dancers who are two-time Olympic medalists (1994 silver, 1992 bronze), the 1993 World champions, and the 1993 European champions. The pair also won gold medals at Skate America, NHK Trophy, Nations Cup, and Winter Universiade. Because Usova and Zhulin's career spanned the breakup of the Soviet Union, the couple skated under four different national labels: the Soviet Union (USSR), the Unified Team (EUN) at the 1992 Olympics, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Russia (RUS).
Usova & Zhulin married in 1986, but later divorced.
Usova/Zhulin skated together professionally from 1994 to 1998. They toured with Champions on Ice and won the World Professional Championships twice. From 1998 to 2000, Usova performed with former rival, Evgeni Platov, while Zhulin performed with Platov's former partner, Oksana Grishuk.
Zhulin is currently a successful skating coach and choreographer in Moscow. In 2000, he married Tatiana Navka, with whom he has a daughter, Sasha, born in May 2000. Zhulin became an American citizen in 2006, but moved back to Russia later that year. In April 2010, he and Navka filed for divorce. He married Natalia Mikhailova in August 2018. Their daughter, Ekaterina, was born on 10 January 2013 in Moscow.
Usova is remarried to a Russian professor in medicine, Anatoly Orletsky. In 2010, she gave birth to their daughter, Anastasia.
