OK, the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society ?

That send me scurrying to the Internet, LOL. Where I found out ... The "oldest and largest figure skating club in the U.S." got its start in 1770 as the "Humane Society," which was a volunteer humanitarian rescue organization whose mission was to pull people out of the Schuylkill River when they fell through the ice while skating.

Keeping up the good work in the City of Brotherly Love.

    Thanks for the post, Silvia.

That one sure had me wondering as well! Thanks for the historic update MM.

Sounds like it will be fun for Philidelphia area folks to get out and see some of the up and comers. Wish I could go too!
