Million Dollar Baby

This movie was better than I expected and My hat is off to Clint Eastwood for a good story; good acting and casting. The ending was a bit of a downer; and I had heard some controversy about it, but all-in-all it was very touching. I don't think Clint will come away empty - handed come Oscar time. Music was good too - most of it written by Clints' son Kyle. "The apple does not fall far from the tree..."

I was surprised by the controversy surrounding this movie. I do not think Clint Eastwood intended this as a political statement, though I could be wrong since he was the mayor of Carmel at one time. I saw this film as a story about three characters and how they handled their circumstances in life.

I agree this was a very good film. The acting and writing was well done. However, if you're looking for a pick-me-up, this is not it.

Very touching, heart breaking. I think Hilary Swank will win the Oscar this year. I don't know if this is the best picture of the year, but it is very good.
