Kim Yu-na Appears in Radio Campaign for Disabled

Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na will appear in a KBS radio campaign for the abolishment of prejudices against the disabled.

In the campaign, Kim will also deliver a message that encourages the disabled to cherish their hopes and dreams.

Kim will donate all the money she will earn for appearing in the radio campaign to the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disability.

The campaign will air on KBS radio from Monday through April 30th.

Kim Yu-na Donates for Rights of the Disabled

Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na plans to donate her W40 million fee for appearing in a radio campaign for the rights of the disabled to the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities (US$=1,121).

The Ministry of Health and Welfare said the campaign has been produced to mark Day for the Disabled, which falls on Tuesday, and will air on radio channels until April 30.

In the 40-second radio spot, Kim says that she has cried for joy twice this year--when she won the gold medal at the Vancouver Olympics and when the Korean wheelchair curling team won the silver medal at the Vancouver Winter Paralympics.

I see so much improvement in her skating since she worked with Orser. Nice music/flow into the spiral sequence around 2:26... that's what spirals should be!
For some reason, this program reminds me of Yuna's 06-07 gala, reflection.
Kwak looks so much like Yuna in this video. the face, the line, and the poise. very, very nice.
Plus it's such a nice quality video :p

woah, so she donated her FOI pay pack (~45,000) to the warship victims/families and her campaign pay pack (~40,000) to the Disabilities Foundation... wow..!

Kim Yuna donates Festa on Ice 2010 proceeds to Cheonan victims

Proudly dubbed the Figure Queen, Korea’s national figure skater Kim Yuna has decided to give hand to the mourning victims of the Cheonan tragedy by donating a portion of her proceeds earned through her recent event, Festa on Ice 2010.

A representative revealed, “$50,000 were collected from the admissions of the KCC Festa on Ice 2010 event, which was held from the 16th to the 20th. All the proceeds were donated to those who passed away in the Cheonan incident,.”

IB Sports, Kim Yuna’s official label, also stated, “We wish to be a little helpful to the families and relatives of the soldiers lost due to such unexpected accident. The hearts of all the attendees of the ice show are now gathered in one.”

Meanwhile, the angel didn’t stop her good deeds just there. Kim Yuna has also made a generous donation of approximately $40,000 to the society that aids handicapped people.

Tuesday is also International Day for the Disabled. Among its peers, Korea is unfortunately second to last on welfare spending for the handicapped. Luckily, Kim Yuna not only has a heart of gold but a pocketful of won as well.

Man, she has to stop this. I don't want to think she is perfect. I attended the Paralympics. Watching the curlers in wheel chairs, and hockey players in a sledge, and those skier!. I cried too because they were so inspirational. All athletes and people should follow paralympics more. Good for you Yuna. You have the right attitude about what is important in life.

Hope Yuna gets her own PR crew together and goes independent. That way IMG will be able to find a chance to sort things out with Yuna's side.

WHOOOOOO CAREEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!! They should put up all these commercial videos and other non skating related videos on the yuna fan forum. Yuna fans can talk about YUNA news and praise he as much as they want on Yunafan forum!! I am sick of it!!! And I can not ignore it
