Bing translation of the press release:

Attention media!

19-20 December 2014 year in Kiev at the Ice Arena (street Chalette, 6) will host the biggest tournament of the year in the national figure skating Championship of Ukraine. For participants, not only play for sets of awards, but also for trips to the European and World Championships. The winners of these competitions will have the opportunity to prove themselves at the continental [European] Championship in Stockholm at the end of January, 2015, as well as in the global forum [World Championships] in Shanghai at the end of March.

Interestingly, in three categories-men in pairs and dance duets, we will know the names of brand new champions. Past winners of the Championship of Ukraine Yakov Godoroža men, Siobhan Heekin-Kennedy & Dmitri Dun in ice dancing , and Julia Lavrentyeva & Mr. Rudick in pairs in the upcoming tournament will not take part. The pair broke up, and Yakov Godoroža graduated in the summer off season athletic career.

In the pairs event will be attended by young, but rather ambitious Dnepropetrovsk skaters Renata Hovhannisyan and mark Bardej. This year they made their debut at the Junior Grand Prix series, almost didn't make it to the final in Barcelona, but with older opponents have not competed.

Interesting fight expected in men, where the main competition as 16-year-old figure skaters Favorites Ivan Pavlov and Yaroslav Paniot. Both this year, surprised the world in prizes: Jaroslav Paniot on the stage of the Junior Grand Prix series in Dresden and Ivan Pavlov at the international tournament in Dortmund in the Wizards.

Not only have to defend their Championship title to Natalia Popova. Opponents easily national gold trust Victor Petrenko, this time not to be extradited. In the last competition before the final of the Championship of Ukraine, for example, Natalia Popova surpassed yesterday's Ms Anna Hnyčenkova. And wanting to compete for the European Championship qualifiers and world enough.

Dance couple from Kharkov, Aleksandra Nazarova & Maxim Nikitin, who train in Moscow, will make their debut in the Ukrainian Premier League only among seniors, but are considered to be the main contenders for the top spot. They tried their hand at Wizards on the international scene and, admittedly, are they good. At a major tournament in Poland they became second, and at recent competitions in Croatia, have updated their records.

We invite you to spend two unforgettable days at the Ice Arena on the street. Chalette, 6. On December 19 the skaters will show their short programs, and on December 20 on you expect free programs and performances.

A detailed schedule of the competition:

It's the only info what I have about Ukrainian Nationals.

Additional info - pair Elizaveta USMANTSEVA / Roman TALAN split, at Nationals will be only one pair Renata OGANESIAN / Mark BARDEI.

Yes. Livestream is working.
Just now - warm-up of Ladies.

Mmmm. That's a YouTube livestream.

That means we have ALL the controls!!! :cheer:  :party2:

That's what I hate about the uStream and DailyMotion streams - you can't pause or re-wind.

So, the question now is - is the Ukrainian stream liable to get archived?

Given that there are also streams for French (DailyMotion), Four Nationals (uStream) and Italian (Don't know where yet) Championships that probably won't get archived, it would be a great help if this one was!

They are archived but prone to be taken down by copyright violation after the stream is over and the video is processed. And if numerous videos from the same channel are taken down for copyright violation then the whole channel gets taken down.

Ukraine is a country with a lot of potential when it comes to skating but the brain drain they suffered after the collapse of the Soviet Union was much more immense compared to Russia. Practically every Ukranian skater of any past notoriety lives outside Ukraine. It seems like they were getting their skating infrastructure turned around a bit before the recent crisis, but now I think it's pretty much in long term decay. I doubt they'll have a homegrown Olympic, Worlds, or European medalist in the next 20 years.

Kim Cheremsky did the US sectionals last season, and it seems she took part to an israeli championship (novice) two years ago. So probably an US girl with jewish-ukranian heritage.
