SD press conference and FD draw is going to be streamed here
You're a gem. :thank:

Well, yay! I can't wait for the FD; it's going to be awesome. :cheer:
It will be for sure. Bearing in mind that it is the Shibsibs' magic performance of Fix You that mesmerised everyone this season. It'll be close at the top and I can't wait!

Weaver and Poje deserve 3rd though imo
Yes, they did. I feel really sorry for them and hope they can pull it together for tomorrow. Somebody probably posted this already, but there's an interview with WeaPos by CBC on http://cbc.ca/sports/videos from just before the SD. Very emotional, Kaitlyn is crying. I sooo hope they'll be on the podium at least. :clapper:

Personally, I thought Piper & Paul are just fantastic. I knew they wouldn't be in the first three, but I'm chuffed for their SB.:hap93:

Sorry, C/B fans, but they don't do it for me and they never will.

Who were notoriously uneven as a couple.

Ghost.

Need I say more?

At least we are still talking about it after all those years. In 5 years from now, what programs from S/K or I/Z will we be talking about (skated so far I mean)? I bet no one will even bother to try to remember.
Anyhow, just want to express my eternal love for the French. Breathtaking program, I was in awe. Over the moon for the Shibs. And sad for the Italiens

what did Tatiana said about papadakis cizeron?

She said that it always seem like nothing really that special about them when one watch them practicing BUT once they take the ice during the competition they just magically transform and she just forgets about everything. She does not like the SD technically BUT tonight she literally could not breath.

If I remember well, she said she couldn't breathe! I honestly thought she was tearing up for a moment, her voice broke.

EDIT: Ooops! What whatif said! :)

What do you mean as uneven? As in Inconsistent? Yes they were very inconsistent, but the judges didn't care at all! That awful Ghost program placed 1st at Euros :drama: in 2013 which they almost won. At least when they skated clean they were in the mix for medals.

I think if there is one lesson for coaches and choreographers to take away from this year it is this: judges seem to want you to play by the rules in the SD. P/C seem to have been given a pass for this but for most couples, the closer they stuck to TRADITION, the better they placed here. It does make sense in a way, because the set pattern is the only way they have to judge couples SIDE BY SIDE. Just my two cents.

I think you're correct. The Ice Dance Judges have always been the last group to embrace originality. This is why, IMO, of course. The US needs to send a HUGE Muffin Basket to Marina Zueva . She has figured out a way to get a touch of originality into her programs without upsetting the very volatile Judging in Ice Dance.

What a morning that was! I can't wait for the free dance. If everyone skates as well as they did today it's going to be one for the ages.

Note to NBC Sports: best ice dance commentary I've heard all season. Tracy and Ben should become your go-to ice dance team. I'm very impressed with Ben's technical notes - wonder of wonders -I LEARNED something new about the pattern dances. Bravo!

It was wonderful to watch 3+ hours of ice dance today on NBCSN. So many short dances I never saw (don't get IN or Universal). I guess I'm one of the neanderthals who is not mesmerized by Papadakis/Cizeron. I don't like their presentation at all (they remind me of the Pilobolus dance group). Loved the Shibutanis SD and can't wait to see once again their FD. Also enjoyed H/D's Hallelujah SD and Weaver/Poje looked so elegant (they always do) I'd love to see W/P on the podium with the Shibutanis. Ben Agosto did a great job commentating. He and Tracy were mostly quiet during the programs and did most of their critiques in the follow-up slo-mo's.

You mean you don't prefer Tara ('what's a twizzle') and Johnny ('they're Russian so I lurveeeeeee them") with their ever insightful dance reporting, which goes something like this:

Tara: Oh wow, She is wearing such a pretty dress.
Johnny: Was it made in Russia?
Tara: I don't know but it looks like she just missed that last set of twizzles. If I had been an ice dancer instead of a GOLD MEDAL WINNING LADIES CHAMPION, I would never have missed a twizzle, just like (proceeds to talk for the next five minutes about her career).
Johnny:They would have twizzled fabulously if they were Russian.

Oy veh!

For all of you French twizzles concerned. I can only wirte down what our commentator said and it was our ex ice dancer at top level Aleksandra Kauc. Gabriella stopped her rotation at the last set, so they went unsync. It should cost them GOE. Not a level down, because despite of sync all of twizzle level markers were fullfiled

I agree 100%. It's funny because I thought I was listening to Michael Weiss and couldn't believe how well he was doing with his commentary. ;)

I think P/C were slightly over scored for twizzels but over all, they were fantastic and deserve to lead, but Shibutanis should come close. I put W/P in third, as I didn't find the Americans better. Anyway they are close, except for the French team that is far ahead.
CBC transmission was a joke. Online streaming had a lot of problems (I thought that Boston is not that far away from Toronto for internet connections) and the TV coverage came too late and was filled with long adds. Booo!

The French are too good, I don't see anyone beating them here. Their quality is incredible (even if I find their SD score here bit inflated) and their quick rise is terrific in the last 2-3 seasons, it makes me feel bit envy about some of my favourite teams from the past for which it took many, many years before they broke into the very top or podium (Delobel / Schoenfelder, Pechalat / Bourzat f.e) while these two (20 and 21 years old) are on their best path to win their 2nd World Championships. I wish to see Pojer / Weaver on the podium but it's going to be tough battle to get there. Cappellini / Lanotte underperformed while Gilles / Poirier exceeded expectations.

I need to watch Muramoto/Reed, but I knew they would make it to the Free Dance! But The Best Info of the Day is that 14th place for the Poles :yes2: :hap57: They are in 2nd group in FD :hap10: So HAPPPYYYYYYYYYYYY! :hap93:
