2020 Winter Star

OK, so my attempts at talking diplomatically there are looking a bit daft now. Because Maia has opened up a massive lead ofver Aleksandra.

I hope that this isn't going to become a trend for the rest of this segment. Because it's more exciting when the scores are closer. It doesn't look good when you have gaps of over 15 points between each skater in the overall results. But it looks even worse when it happens within a segment, as is happening so far in this FS.

Especially since the skaters have been skating well.

Dubinina. She always delivers a mature performance. I enjoy her skating.

What a strange fall for Antonina early on. That's the sort of fall you would see sent in to "You've Been Framed"!

Leaving that to one side, it was a good performance of that routine. And I am liking it more every time I see it!

But, it was costly. She goes behind Mazzara in both the FS and overall.

EDIT: She's way down on Mazzara on both TES and PCS!​

Glad they didn't waste time waiting around for Niki, and went straight to her team-mate. Because it means I will definitely see the end of the ISU competition before I leave to watch the lead in to the F1 season finale.

Lindsay. One random fall. But otherwise this was a glorious skate. She has so improved this year. She's becoming a favorite of mine.

We may have lost one Dutchie from the competition, but the other one more than made up for it!

She goes into the overall lead by over 10 points!

Am I imagining things or did Safonova totally bail out of a jump about a minute into the programme? She looked to be lining up a jump, and then just did a turn with her leg stuck out.

She looked annoyed with herself immediately after she finished, so maybe I wasn't imagining things!

Mmmm. I'm no expert, but I'd say she's still definitely the class of the field. However, if things did go as badly as she thinks they did, she mightn't win it. Even with a 10 point lead from the SP.

Never fear, she has won. But only just - by the tiny margin of 35 points!

I dread to ask this, but are you including the middle section in that statement? Because I hate that section.

From the Senior Ladies FS, it is now time for the Junior Ladies FS. Starting with the ISU competition, and being followed immediately by the Interclub competition. I won't be watching either of them, as am currently having my dinner, and will then be watching the Formula 1.
