With the six Grand Prix events concluded, the standings for the Men's discipline going into the Final are as follows:

1. Yuma Kagiyama (JPN) 30
2. Shoma Uno (JPN) 28
3. Vincent Zhou (USA) 28
4. Nathan Chen (USA) 26
5. Mikhail Kolyada (RUS) 26
6. Jason Brown (USA) 24

Substitutes:

1. Shun Sato (JPN) 22
2. Morisi Kvitelashvili (GEO) 20
3. Junhwan Cha (KOR) 18

I knew it. Jason did it. I mean he is a bit lucky and maybe somewhere along with no quad he might find himself out of the top ten but so far he is up there always.

Yes, in 2009-2010 Grand Prix Final, the US had Evan Lysacek, Jeremy Abbott, and Johnny Weir in the Grand Prix Final. Evan won the gold, and Johnny won bronze.

There were actually three American men at GPF in 2017 as well, but three did not “initially” qualify. Jason was the first alternate, and he ended up going when Boyang withdrew. The other two were Nathan and Adam.

I thought Michelle, Sarah, and Angela Nikodinov made it during the 2001 season but, Angela just missed the final.

I just looked up the Men's. There might be cases where three US women made it as well.

The most from one country I saw was one year Japan had four(!) men in the GPF. Russia had three men several times.

So excited for this competition! This is a stellar group of skaters, and so curious to see how they stack up at this point.

There's often some surprise (Aymoz, Cha come to mind) when it comes to the medalists, and I think bronze is very much up for grabs. But I'm also excited to see what tech content these skaters put out there -- while medalling/winning on the Grand Prix is one this, this is the time to bring out the firepower pre-Olympics.
