The scoring is not live

Now, that was just what you need to wake you up on a dark miserable morning. Alena KANYSHEVA / Andrei PYLIN wearing bright costumes skating to a Boney M medley (although, they used a slowed-down cover of "Sunny").

The skating went so well until the start of "Daddy Cool". And then it completely fell apart.

Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable programme.

The scoring is not live

It was very intermittant yesterday. Sometimes there was livescoring. Sometimes the standings would just be updated at the end of each group. Sometimes the results would be uploaded after the segment. And the Pairs SP never got any results uploaded (it is still showing the Start Order).

So, we might still get some scores. Or we might not. Your guess is as good as mine!

From the Junior Dancers, we move onto the Junior Ladies. (I actually thought we had a Senior segment coming on now, and I had to re-do this post in a hurry! So, that is why it did not get posted as soon as we heard the trumpets).

Yeah, I still can't get over the quality of the pictures. This is really setting a high standard for the other event organisers.

It's just a pity there were some technical issues yesterday. But, hopefully the gremlins won't re-appear today.

Lucky I started viewing these lovely skaters even though I promised myself I would not stay up late again ahead of Skate Canada. Oh well..beauty wins over sense and I am here for it.

I know the feeling. I only realised about an hour and a half before the Skate Canada Pairs SP started last night that my "kids" Zoe and Chris were there!

Well, Semion skated at the Cup of Russia stage in Sochi just this week (he won the bronze medal too!). He must have gone straight to Kazakhstan from Sochi, what a busy week for him.
