Sophia called on her flip. As many skaters have been this year. The problem is the new flip technique (a quick takeoff,-pop- which tends to be flat ) that skaters have adopted to avoid 'telegraphing', is now being called out as !. Trusova is getting hit as well.
The technical panels love of flip calls is so puzzling to me. I like it when rules are enforced but call the Flutzes, too. They often don't..

Clare really does have the best basics of all of the US junior ladies. Isabeau, Mia and Lindsey really do lack speed and while it doesn't hurt Lindsey so much since she has such good jump technique Mia and especially Isabeau are going to really need to work on their basic skating if they hope to make it through their growth spurts like Alysa did. Why do US coaches do such a bad job at teaching these young girls basic skating and stroking before they enter Juniors compared to the Russian, Japanese and Korea skaters?

Wait, the coach 🥵

Sorry, didn't notice this comment at the time.

That's Nikita Pchelyakov, who is the former Ice Dance partner of Ekaterina Mironova, who now skates with Evgenii Ustenko.

The scary thing is, Nikita only stopped being age eligible for Juniors this season!
