A few years ago (2017), I met two of the skaters at the rink. And one of them, Daniella Vanessa Ipsarides (the one wearing black in my avatar), did a few laps on the ice. And it was scary to watch her going around that small space at speed.

Now you can understand why the skaters that train on the island tend to be very cautious when doing jumps. And why they don't build up a lot of speed.

For somebody who is used to skating on full sized rinks in America, it must have been a real culture shock to do it on that size of a rink. But, she pulled it off!

Sophia called on her flip. As many skaters have been this year. The problem is the new flip technique (a quick takeoff,-pop- which tends to be flat ) that skaters have adopted to avoid 'telegraphing', is now being called out as !. Trusova is getting hit as well.
