For some reason I thought d'Al/W were originally going to be in Courchevel. They must be kicking themselves. Still, I think they are very strong. Fingers crossed.
Makita/Gunara were always scheduled for the first two events.

I was going to say I am SO HERE for my personal fave Kirill S! But I'm not sure the time zones will work out.

Fingers crossed I'll be able to catch some of it though!

Hmm, she's so much better than this and I hope she will show it. But apparently after changing countries it's very difficult to stay in top form due to many circumstances..

Does anybody know when they update the planned program content? After the draw maybe?

Also i´m starting to get a little nervous about Mia Risa Gomez. She is still on the entries list, but neither she, the club or the Federation has said a word yet if she arrived safely and cleared to compete. I just realized Norway is listed as an orange country and Mia is most likely not fully vaccinated, if she is lucky she just got the first shot, because the have only started vaccinate 15 years old. If i´m not mistaken I think it means she has to test before departure, and another additional test at arrival, and be quarantined until the results are ready. Or are they giving exceptions for athletes? Maybe i´m just overthinking and she is arriving late. But practice starts today so I would think she would be there by now.

Have the Russians arrived and cleared to go? Do they have to test upon arrival or are they most likely fully vaccinated so there are no problem?

Why did Italy wd from both Mens and Ladies but they are still in pairs and dance? Seems like an issue with the individual skaters and just a coincidence that they both wd? I hope Lara Naki is ok. I was looking forward to seeing her.

Great news for me! The Boys will be on at a fabulous time for me ☺️ 7:30pm tonight and 10:35pm tomorrow (Friday) night.

I'll totally miss out on the Girls though, which is a shame. :(

i think it's understandable, with the new italian GP and being Lara the national champion she will be among the 3 italian entries for sure

Ah good, they're doing it again!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

I thought the FISG were only doing their own GP series last season because the skaters were not getting much competitive action due to the pandemic. And so I expected that, since this season looks like it is going to be more normal, it would not be run again. Which would have been a shame, because I thought it was a great idea!

So, I am delighted that they have seen the benefits, and are doing it again.

Do you know when it starts? And if Leccardi will be taking part?

Maybe I am reading too much into things (who, me?), but I am concerned there have been no skating photos on Elisabetta's Instagram since February (and that was on a frozen lake. There have been no photos of her on rink ice since November! ). And I am worrying that all the injury issues she has had in recent years have led her to call it a day. As you know, I'm a big fan of her's, and would really miss her if she did retire. So, anything that may offer hope, and I'll take it!

By the way, I am afraid that I will not be playing the Predictions Contest this round after all. Things ran badly behind schedule yesterday, so instead of watching the Free Dance from Courchevel (II) this morning like I intended, I'm actually watching the Men's FS. I should get the boys finished in time for today's action starting. But, I'll not have time to do predictions as well.

So, we'll have to wait until the Lombardia to cross swords.

This isn't a reference to Italy doing their own GP series - they are hosting the GP that China was supposed host but could not on the ISU series, and there is speculation that they will be adding skaters a their host picks.

Oh, I never heard that.

Is this definite? The last announcement I heard from the ISU was that the Cup Of China had been cancelled, but that they were looking for an alternative venue. And the discussion in the thread seemed to indicate that Finland or Korea were the favourites to step in.

But, if Italy were to get it, I'm sure they would do a great job. The Lombardia Trophy and Merano Cup are always great competitions. And I always look forward to them.

And Italy holding a GP would be a dream come true for me. I have long believed that the Senior GP series should be expanded to 8 events, with 2 in Western Europe and 2 in Eastern Europe. And for the Western European GP's, I was proposing that the 2 GP's could rotate between France, Germany and Italy!

So, if we are now going to Italy, this means that all three of these countries will have hosted a Senior GP! And we can properly judge if this could work.

Anyway, thank you for the clarification, and sorry for going off topic.

:thank:

It is official that Italy (Turin) will host the third GP of the season instead of China.
It is not official if Italy would add their own host picks replacing Chinese previous host picks.
