I love the care that Shoma takes with his connecting steps. Slight mistake doubling second jump in combo.
He uses his blades like a violinist uses his bow.

Perfect description, omg! Especially for this SP, and double especially for the slow closing pose mimicking the stroke of the bow for the final note.

I've looked at Zhou's 3A and 4S multiple times in slo-mo and I must say they were both fully rotated, not at all on the 'q'. Unfortunately, like Miyahara, his reputation makes the judges ready to give him that < or q.

Uno's program was wonderfully clean this time! Really good landings on all the jumps. I really want him to get that Olympic spot, so it's nice to see it all come together. But I wonder if they should change the last thirty seconds or so. The step sequence and ending spin with a low amount of energy because of the music edit.

Omg, catching up at lunch break, and… wow, we have a commentator who is not annoying! Has ISU heard us or is it just one off for NHK and then we are back to Cringe Commentary? Please, can we keep him?

Other than that, great short program, except Hiwatashi missing his combo

He definitely has improved the illusion spin since Skate Canada—more stretch. I didn’t think it was half bad. So few men can do it. He also didn’t travel nearly as much on the spins. He’s definitely working on the elements that were lacking in his last program.

He keeps this up and doesn’t get gassed in the long, per usual, he might become my new son and Misha more like a nephew

I love the shirt. I guess I am alone in that, lol.
