I still think T/M are the superior Russian team but if you want a team to go out and nail their content I'd choose M/G at this point. (I'm thinking of the team event here and who should skate the short)

Frankly if Russia wants to be extra safe M/G should skate both sp and fs (I'm not familiar with the team event rules btw).

I feel like there was a pair team at Russian test skates who used Stayin Alive for their free, we need that kind of energy at the big events from at least one major team!

Definitely! All these snoozy programs and grey, drab outfits just are not Olympic-feeling to me.

The announcer feels more excitement than I do. It’s been a kind of underwhelming event.

I wish Pavliuchenko/Khodykin could have been here! We could have used a bit more wow factor.

Well, clearly they won. There are things I like a lot about this choreography. The mirrored star spiral where she's lying along his side in the star position that he's doing one the ice. That last lift is my favourite. But I can't help but notice that they are a bit mechanical in their presentation. They don't feel the music and don't understand the mood of the program and how it's woven together beyond just elements. Does that make sense?

It makes perfect sense to me. It is lucky for them that the choreography is so expressive, as it covers some of their faults. But they do not feel the mood of the program as much as other pairs.

Well they could because for once Pairs isn't first up so you aren't asking a team to skate 4 programs in 4 days. Then they could have 2 men and 2 ladies. I can't see them asking Misha to skate both if they are hoping he will medal in the men's.

Not loving Misha's shirt and he makes me nervous on those lifts. His legs seem to be moving in concrete! But, overall, the program was good and Chelsea nailed those throws!

Well.. I was a bit underwhelmed by this. I thought R/K were good but the program is dull. T/M just made too many mistakes and the program is dull. M/G were good at the elements but the program was dull and they lack chemistry (in my opinion).

So yes... dull programs.

unpopular opinion : i don't mind M|G's programs : they are filled with interesting choreo... i don't care that the music is dull.. at least it's not Roxannnnnne or something hideous
