Today's helpful hint. The 7/11 and Walgreens are 5 minutes away by crippled old 72 year old man.I would load up on water/Gatorade/Starbucks coffee there as in house prices are high. I brought a reusable eco-bag good for dozens of trips. IMG_20211019_132938670_copy_460x613.jpg

FWIW re coffee :coffee2: and the like:

When I attended 2019 Skate America, it was helpful to me that Fuddruckers in the Orleans Hotel/Casino food court had some kind of free-refill policy.
I don't remember exactly what it was, but something along the lines of: If I bought coffee once in the morning and then brought back my receipt and cup, I could return all day for free refills of coffee?
I think (? but am not sure? ) that there was a similar policy for tea; and a similar one for soft drinks? But no mixing and matching -- buying coffee in the morning did not entitle me to free tea or free soft drinks later in the day.
(In my case, I was in Vegas for a full week b/c of volunteering. On several mornings, I would buy a breakfast combo that included coffee, and then it was permissible for me to bring back the receipt and cup for more coffee.)

Disclaimers:
I have no idea whether Fuddruckers still has this type of policy.
The Fuddruckers coffee -- ETA: *and* food! -- served my purposes. Whether it they would meet the standards of connoisseurs is a separate question. :)

Fuddruckers. $14 for fish and chips and a coke. No tartar sauce or vinegar. Taste so so. Italian place next booth looked better. Panda Express 3.65 min away to west.

5 minute drive, or 5 minute walk? I tried to estimate looking at Google street view, and I think it's farther away than it looks, on foot.

Okay, *now* I am envious. I haven’t had American Chinese food in three years. I always think there is a big opportunity here for new restaurants if they served that kind of menu… :giggle:

Boots on the ground. Made it to my room. Orleans. Uber driver said there is a huge youth festival in town she said 500,000. No line at check-in at noon .
That would be the Electric Daisy Carnival, an electronic music festival.
Japanese skaters are at CNA right now, according to my local spies.
I know I said not to stalk skaters earlier, but now I'm tempted to see if Shoma's there when I get to Vegas...

Walk. Even though I have issues I do walk pretty fast. If you use Google maps on a desk top, or even on a phone, it will tell you the exact distance.

I know! It's an off fact of Human nature. I can talk to Evan Bates and thank him for what he said about human rights today but if I saw Kaori I would melt into a pile of goo...LOL! Must not stalk Kaori...

Sorry, Chris. In hindsight, I realize that when writing my disclaimer above, I should have included not only coffee, but also food. (I have edited my post accordingly.)

Under other circumstances, I enjoy a nice meal as much as anyone else would -- but when attending a competition, I often am in food-is-merely-fuel, convenience-is-paramount mode.

(Different strokes for different folks. I love Chinese food, but Panda Express ain't my thing.)

😂 In any case, I think I will try to refrain from any future comments regarding food or drink.

Me trying to get a table at breakfast. The big breakfast restaurant gets crowded after 8 am. It is the same one that gives you room service at same prices. IMG_20211020_083833584_BURST001_copy_503x741.jpg

Anyone have the practice schedule?

Color-coded schedule: https://results.isu.org/schedules/gpusa2021_ColouredTimeSchedule.pdf

But I have not yet seen a listing of practice groups and music order, if that is what you had in mind.

BTW, other stuff, in case you have not yet seen:

52-page 2021 Skate America event program: https://online.flippingbook.com/view/1001955535/

From USFS event page:

The U.S. Figure Skating information booth is now the U.S. Figure Skating Fan Experience! This transition will allow fans and event attendees to interact with members of headquarters staff, ask question pertaining to the event, and participate in fun, memorable activities with opportunities to win prizes. 2021 Guaranteed Rate Skate America activities include the Figure Skating Fitness Challenge and an open air photo booth. ...

The Fan Experience is located on the concourse and will be open one hour prior to each contested event and during ice resurfaces. A schedule of activities is below:
Thursday, Oct. 21: Open Air Photo Booth (Event Theme)
Friday, Oct. 22: Figure Skating Fitness Challenge
Saturday, Oct. 23: Open Air Photo Booth (medal podium)
Sunday, Oct. 24: Figure Skating Fitness Challenge

Please note: Printed start orders are no longer available at the U.S. Figure Skating Fan Experience (formerly U.S. Figure Skating Information Booth). ...

USFS Virtual Fan Experience for 2021 Skate America:
(I never have warmed up to this heavily-graphicized format, but maybe others like it?)

Luv U! LOL!

🤗 I will miss comparing notes with you in person! 😷
