Very enjoyable competition. The judging seems fair enough. While You Young is obviously the best known internationally, she had some rather obvious under rotations and isn't necessarily the most natural performer. Plus, she has very long set-ups into some of her jumps which distracts a bit from the overall package. Haein and Yelim seemed to have the best rotation on their jumps here . As already mentioned, Yelim has very nice jumps. Haein has high-quality elements across the board and the best skating skills (plus beautiful arms). I am not completely sold on her program yet, but I think she will grow into the performance. Eunsoo is, of course, a lovely skater and I enjoyed her commitment to the choreography. However, I thought her combination looked a bit under-rotated and the landing was not very steady. So, I think fourth is the correct placement.

Cha was a delight and definitely head and shoulders above the rest of the field. However, I also enjoyed Sihyeong Lee. I am looking forward to the freeskate.

Thank you! But wow, Eunsoo was 4th in PCS?! That’s...weird. I would’ve had it Eunsoo, Haein, Yelim, Young (and with a larger gap between them lol).

I would put Yelim first with PCS, then followed by Young, Haein and Eunsoo.
I noticed that Eunsoo wasn't as synced in with the music (ie. the opening spiral sequence). Young looked focused but she looked a bit disengaged in the first half of the program.
I like Yelim's Liebestraum. It fits her well. Haein's Ave Maria was beatiful but I'm iffy on the vocal choice.

I feel like Jun's Dark Pastoral was lacking some oomph (drama? gravitas? grandeur? just something was missing). It's likely due of the virtual aspect of his training that's hindering it from reaching what DW envisioned. It's his first outing with the program so I'm pretty sure his team will touch upon what's missing. I'm always here for #dramaticJun though so I hope he keeps it for the next season.

I wonder if Sihyeong will do a 4S in his long program.....

I’m not really sure why but I just can’t really enjoy Yelim or You’s programs PCS wise. I appreciate their technical aspects but there’s never anything that makes me want to go back and rewatch their programs...

Also, I agree with what you said about Eunsoo. But even with that, I still felt she was overall more musical than the rest, or at least more engaging to me (I just don’t get how all the top girls got 31 for PCS — reminds me of how the Japan Fed scores their girls).

I think I will like Haein’s Free Skate more, I’m a little iffy on the vocals as well! But she’s a beautiful skater! Really looking forward to the free tomorrow!

Gorgeous Korean girls from the first value group of seniors (5th group) at SP. Good technique, beautiful music, costumes, choreography ... For me they are the most charismatic of everything I've seen so far.

Yes, I was impressed in how good shape they all are, despite the pandemy.

Thanks so much for the posts. I saved this portion of the day to watch Koreans skate. I’m watching like I’m watching it live thanks to your posts. I really appreciate it
