I will never understand scoring. I know that Andrew popped the first jump, but zero points??? If he had gotten any points for that jump, he would be farther ahead

Because you have to a solo Triple or Quad in the SP - it was a double, and therefore, invalid.

The top 4 scored within 3 points of each other in the free skat, but at the end Torgashev maintains his short program lead to win the 2022 Southern California Open overall.

There are adorable young girls here with cheer leading pompoms and it looks like they have made a sign for each skater, which they are presenting to them as they leave the ice.


And we have 2 junior and 1 senior man and so they are all warming up together.

And first we have junior man Lucas Broussard from the Kraken? Skating Academy. Red fringed vest, black pants. It is classical music and my Shazam doesn't know it. Ok, that was lovely and I was engrossed in it. Beautiful clean program. 74.79 is his score. Next up we have Andriy Kratyuk of the Portland ISC. Black pants, black short sleeved top. I do not know him so I am excited to see a new man. Ok, that didn't come out well. More classical music my phone does not know. Messy skate riddled with small errors and a fall. Hopefully he will come back strong in the free. Oops, I guess Samuel Mindra WD because they have Silver Adult Ladies warming up. And Andriy's score is 37.76. I think this may be his junior debut.
