I just heard the news from Instagram.... So frustrating!

And since there are only 2 pairs competing, does that mean they're canning the entire pairs category this year then? 🙁

No, that just means Murakami/Moriguchi will be the winners by default. I'm pretty sure they will still skate, even though there's no competition...I think it's been like this when there's only one competing team at other Japanese tournaments before.

I really feel for them. 50 hours after leaving their training city they are stuck in Vancouver. Sure the weather is bad, but not that bad. I will spare you all my rant against the airlines and how airports are run. But stories like this dont have to be....and they werent in the last century. 😞

Day 2 starts with the Pairs skaters. And with the withdrawal of Riku Miura / Ryuichi Kihara, it means that it will be a very short Short segment, with only Haruna Murakami / Sumitada Moriguchi skating.

Livestream for the Pairs SP is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

Here is the Time Schedule:

And here is the live scoring:

Hope this helps

Time to take a short break from wrapping Christmas presents to cheer on the lone pair team here. Go Murakami/Moriguchi!

Yeah, unfortunately Haruna is too young, she's 14...
And next season Haruna & Sumitada won't be able to compete either in junior or senior pairs due to their age difference :( I hope they stay motivated until they can compete again, otherwise I hope they can find a good alternative partners.

It baffles me how there's almost no one in the pairs pipeline in Japan, after all the success that RikuRyu had
