Panetta Trasher competed in JGP but didn't get the TES minimums

Fredette St-Louis got their TES minimums but they are MIA : they didn't skate at Nationals... they were not at Challenge either... they were not a last minute W/D so either they split or retired or really not healthy to compete.
Meghan Fredette is on Ice Partner Search as of early January, so I think they split unfortunately.

I just watched the senior Pairs competition, and it made me a little sad for the Dutchies. I had high hopes for Nika and Dmitry as the skated decently in the SP with no falls and good SBS 3 Salchows. It didn't go so well today. nika fell with the SBS combination, and they both fell on the SBS 3T (which were under rotated). There was another one, so there were 4 points deducted, and that really does hamper the whole of the programme. They did do a Triple Twist (level 2) but on the whole it didn't look good. They fell back to 3rd, and regrettably did not get their minimum TES for the Free either for Euro's or for Worlds.

The Italians had a better go this time round. Anna and Manuel had no falls at all today, and though they did do some doubles instead of triples, they did do an SBS 3S eu 2S combination. And mostly clean! Irma and Riccardo did even better, although they also turned a triple into a double (in the SBS combo) but also on the whole a lot beter. So, Irma and Riccardo finished in first and Anna and Manuel in second.

There were only 3 partnerships on the ice in the Group 1 Warm-Up. So, we have withdrawal.

Yes, I know there were 3 partnerships scheduled to go in Group 1. But the first partnership to skate was actually the partnership that is contesting the Bavarian Championships, Rika UNRUH / Artojom SLATKOV (DEU).

EDIT: According to the results table that was on screen at the end of the segment, all 7 of the Bavarian Open partnerships did skate. So, one of the partnerships must have been hiding in one of the blind spots when I was counting during the Warm-Up. Sorry for the false alarm.

OK, so since there was a resurfacing between them, and since the first reminder post was getting complicated due to covering 4 segments across 2 events, I have decided to do separate posts for each set of Intermediate Novice Pattern Dances.

Livestream for Intermediate Novice Pattern Dance 2 is now on air.

And now that the Intermediate Novices have finished their Pattern Dances, it is the turn of the Advanced Novices. There is quite a large field with a resurfacing between each set, so I will again do separate posts.

Livestream for Advanced Novice Pattern Dance 1 is now on air.

After the false alarm earlier in the Intermediate Novices, there are actual withdrawals in the Advanced Novices.

The first is the partnership that was due to open up this second group, #5 Selina SCHMIDT / Yannick SEIDEL (DEU).

The second is the partnership that was due to be the penultimate partnership to skate in the final group, #12 Finja MAEDER / Piero Joel LOPEZ MORENO (DEU)

The concerning thing is that both partnerships are from the same club in Saxony.

It's not often you see a fall in Ice Dance, but that is what just happened to Oliver MA at the corner of the rink where the opening is. And unfortunately, he brought Renee YUEN down with him.

This Aussie partnership was already in last position after PD1, where they were 2 points behind the Finns, but considerably behind the rest of the field. So this will not help them overall.

Now that the Pattern Dances are complete, it is time to switch to Singles skating. And to decide the destination of the first medals of the day.

What a fun programme from Stefanie PESENDORFER (AUT)!

Never heard the song before ("Got Your Number" by Serena Ryder). But, I hope we hear it more often.

She goes into the lead.

Stefanie was 3 points behind her fellow Austrian, Sophia SCHALLER, in the SP. So, I'm intrigued to see what she comes out with right now.

The Austrians have swapped position!

Which makes things very interesting, because Nicole SCHOTT (DEU) was only 0.06 ahead of Schaller in the SP. And Taylor MORRIS (ISR) was only a further 0.75 points ahead of Schott.

Having been 6th in the SP, it's now not inconceivable that Pasendorfer could be on the podium!

As it turned out, Pasendorfer did climb one more spot to 4th overall. This was because Morris dropped from 3rd in the SP to 7th overall.

The other big change was Schott climbing from 4th to win the Silver Medal.

But Kristina ISAEV (DEU), from the Mannheim club, held onto the Gold Medal. I am getting so impressed with her. This was her highest ever total score. Last month, she was nearly 20 points behind Schott at Nationals. Today, she was 6.64 points ahead of her.

Maybe Schott is conserving herself before her imminent trip to Beijing. But, I do believe that Isaev will be a genuine contender for the title of German #1 very soon.

The graphics people have got ahead of themselves. They put up the Bavarian Open Group 1 participants instead of the Bavarian Championships participants.

But, it has caused some confusion. There has been a withdrawal, and there will only be 3 partnerships in Group 1. The graphic said that it was partnership #4 Nao KIDA / Masaya MORITA (JPN), that withdrew. But, the livescoring page says it is my kids, #2 Sofia VAL / Nikita VITRANYUK (ESP), that are missing.

So, your guess is as good as mine as to who is here and who isn't!

There has also been another withdrawal: the partnership that was due to be the third to go after the resurfacing. However, they had already been removed when the Time Schdule PDF was published. So, I don't know who they are!

In the meantime, the Kiwi partnership are about to start.

OK, there is something wrong with the Entries / Results page. Because Isabelle GUISE / Ethan ALDAY (NZL), who were the first to go in the Bavarian Championships, are not listed on the livescoring page for it. But, they are listed on the Entries Page for the Bavarian Open.

I wonder if they were the partnership that was supposed to go at #11 in the Bavarian Open, but they made a last minute swap to the Bavarian Championship.

Meanwhile, it is my kids that are missing from Group 1. 😞

Here for Kida/Morita!

Thank the skating gods they weren't the WD 😬

These two have fun programs and lots of energy.
If they perform at least as well as they did at Jr Nats or the qualifying competition they should get the TES minimums to compete at JW no problem.

Best of Luck to them in their international competition debut!

A bit of confusion over the music for the Straubs (AUT). But, when they did eventually get going, they were good.

They also seem to have a lot of supporters in the audience.

They take the lead.

Now for the not missing but actually here Japanese partnership.

Nooooo!
He was the one with twizzles troubles earlier in the season not her!
Why now...and a fall no less...😭

Edit:
Phew...Just reached the RD TES minimum though I'm sure they're extremely disappointed with that skate.

Wishing them a better FD that shows off what their really capable of.

Awwww!!! They are so young and cute!!!

They were going really well. And then Nao had a really strange fall! 😞

But, they recovered and, on the whole, that was really good.

Based on what I just saw, if these two stick together, the future is looking bright for Japanese Ice Dance.

New leaders for sure.
