51 entries (including 2 Americans that have yet to be announced) in Junior Ladies!!! 😲 😲 😲

61 entries in Advanced Novice Ladies!!! :jaw: :jaw: :jaw:

I dread to imagine how long the Short Programme segments, never mind the Free Skate segments, are going to be for those categories! :drama:

It's going to be very interesting to see the schedule the organisers come up with for this event.

I would be surprised if half of the entries show up. Entries are place holders. IF more than 30 attend it's not unusual for novice and junior ladies events to have A/B and even C groups If more than 24 show up I assume only best 24 results from short program move on to the free skate.

I was curious to see if the US Fed would sent Ilia here to get his Sp minimum but since it starts in less than a week I am doubting that. I don't see him going to 4CC so he will not have the minimum at World's meaning he won't be able to compete. I was also hoping they'd send Gracie just to get her out there more. And juniors I'm not sure.

Ilia won´t be going here for the same reason he didn´t get the spot at 4CC, he is first alternate for OG so he needs to be ready to go for Beijing in short times notice. I also hope US will send Gracie but i´m not having to high hopes. Maybe they send Kate Wang instead. Maybe they decide not to send anyone after all.

They might send Ilia to the Challenge Cup though... just in time for getting TES minimums for Worlds but during a periode when The Olympics are no longer a possibility (24th-27th of February).

Ah ok didn't know about that. Sounds as though they will.

Kanon Smith is now listed in the official start order for Junior Women 1. The USFS website assignment listing has been changed to Junior. Their original listing for her as Advanced Novice was probably just an error.

Sorry, completely forgot about the Bavarian Open. It started half an hour ago.

I am in the middle of doing something at the moment, and so will not be able to join until in an hour from now. But, if I can, I will wind back and play catch-up.

Due to the sheer number of entries, the Advanced Novice Ladies and Junior Ladies competitions have each been split into 2 segments. Both SP segments of both competitions will be held today.

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Ladies I SP is now on air.

And from Advanced Novice I, we move to Advanced Novice II.

I'm still playing catch-up on the first segment. But, as there are longer breaks than I would have expected between the segments today (possibly due to withdrawals), I should be caught up by the time the Juniors start.

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Ladies II SP is now on air.

Just finished Group 1, and wanted to comment about the last 2 skaters I saw. Who, coincidentally, are both from the Oberstdorf club.

JUN Heerang skated to "Second Hand Rose" by Fanny Brice (although, it was probably Barbara Streisand's version from "Funny Girl"). I hadn't seen it being skated to before, but I would love to see it used more often. It was great!

Meanwhile, Felissia ILGEN skated to "Kiss" by Prince. And I don't think I've ever seen so much armography at the start of a programme! @anonymoose_au would have been impressed!

They finished the group in 3rd (Jun) and 4th (Ilgen), with 0.03 points separating them! :drama:

Now that the Novice girls are finished their Short Programmes, it is time for the first batch of their Junior counterparts. Although, curiously, unlike with the Novices, the Junior Ladies II SP is being held before the Junior Ladies I SP.

It took me until the last skater of Group 1 to realise that the starting order on the Time Schedule PDF and the starting order on the livescoring page are vastly different.

Dutch skater Dani LOONSTRA finished up Group 1 (which ties in with the livescoring page), but according to the Time Schedule, she is the second skater in Group 2. The three German skaters that kicked off the segment, are scattered between Groups 3 and 4 in the Time Schedule. And the skater that is kicking off Group 2, Hana YOSHIDA (JPN) is down to kick off Group 1 in the Time Schedule! :drama:

What has happened is that we have gone from having 4 groups of 5 skaters (Time Schedule PDF) to having 3 groups of 6 skaters (livescoring page). But, they didn't keep the skaters going in the order they were originally meant to go in.

We didn't have this problem with the Novices earlier!

So, since you can't go by the PDF, I have pasted the actual start order, as taken from the livescoring page, below.

Why must Hana and Rinka both pop at the end of their programs? Do they want to kill me? :dbana: At least they have their TES mins for the JWorlds SP.

Is it just at my end, or did the audio disappear just after the Group 3 Warm-Up started?

I just realised what the problem was. I had the TV muted. :slink:

During the resurfacing, I had the dragged the window back to the computer, and transferred the sound to the computer, as I wanted to look up the TV schedule. And I muted the sound so that I could concentrate on what I was reading. But then when I dragged the window back to the TV and transferred the sound back to the TV, I forgot that I had muted it.

Thankfully, I realised before the first skater finished. So, I at least got an idea of what the programme was.

As I said in another thread earlier on, my brain hasn't been in gear the past few days.

And from the Junior Ladies II SP, we move to the Junior Ladies I SP. And we have the same problems with the Start Orders.

Not only that, but the segment is starting 15 minutes earlier than planned. Which means I won't be able to watch it LIVE like I planned, as I am eating now.
