The 2022 Lombardia Trophy is the second in a series of 10 events of the 2022-23 Figure Skating Challenger Series and is scheduled to take place in Bergamo, Italy, September 15-18, 2022, at the ICELAB Arena Via San Bernardino. The event will feature three figure skating disciplines (Men, Women, and Ice Dance).

If the requirements specified in the above-mentioned documents are fulfilled, the event will count towards ISU World Standing Points, Minimum Total Technical Score, Challenger Series in Figure Skating Ranking and Prize Money.

The Challenger Series is an International Figure Skating Series, introduced during the 2014-15 season. Through ISU support, the objective is to ensure the proper and consistent organization and conduct of up to 10 International Competitions linked together within the Challenger Series. The Series gives adequate opportunities for many skaters to compete at the international senior level and earn World Standing Points. The Series also increases the opportunity for Officials to officiate at an international level.

To be considered for the Challenger Series, the competition must have at least three disciplines (Men, Women, Pair Skating, Ice Dance) from a minimum of 10 different ISU Members in all disciplines combined.

First international senior competition for Finland's Janna Jyrkinen (15 yo). Interesting to see how she can hold her nerves - she has more difficult jumping repertory than other seniors. There are now at least six candidates competing about the only spot at EC and any of them can do it. Local Fed's rules seem to be he same as last year: two best scores, and other one must be international ISU competition.

What makes you say that?

If I recall correctly, JSF only had 4 Challengers in their list this season that they planned to send skaters to. Two of those Challengers' entries are announced now, and only Koshiro is listed. That means, unless there's been an unannounced change, that there are only two Challengers left, and eight talented young men who could score nice points at any Challengers, but likely most won't be sent. Most will be heading to useless regional Japanese championships (two have already confirmed that) that they'll score NO world ranking points for. In the meantime, all sane countries are sending their skaters to Challengers eagerly. Japan has only sent its female medalists so far, plus Rion, and the least deserving of all its top 10 men, who won't even have to face Japan's superstars Yuma and Shoma. That's extremely unfair, and I resent JSF for their politicking, bias and machinations.

Result page (including the Pair event which is not part of CS):

The technical panel listed for Men event is clearly wrong. Probably they cut and pasted Judge 1 also in the Technical Specialist section.

Does anyone know if Wakaba has planned any 3/3s or 3As? Last I heard she wasn't going to because of issues with injury recovery.
