2022 Four Continents: Free Dance

Very pretty shimmery dress for Christina. Bit out-of-synch on the twizzles, but some lovely lifts and spins.

I have to say, the lovely flowy blue dress does not scream "disco/pop dance break"

I think that might be the point of it actually! The dance break is supposed to be unexpected.

They don’t fool us, of course. We have seen this dreadful program before

So we all know this program isn’t it, anyone else have thoughts on what they could do instead? I was thinking maybe classical but not soft, like Sorcerer’s Apprentice maybe.

Odd as this may sound, I find myself watching Kana throughout this. She is lovely!

They didn't fall. I had about thirty heart attacks whenever they were remotely close to each other though.

Well done, hooray! So pleased Kana and Dai will certainly get a silver after that (still think she and Chris earned silver in 2018 but hey).

I loved that! That was beautiful! The music was so refreshing (ok, I like La Bayadère) and the little balletic movements were wonderful details. Also, A+ for having detailed costumes for both skaters and not just the woman.

Satomi Ito did the design. She's done some really spectacular stuff this season (and some really bad I'm still not over Yuma's hideous Grumpa-esque vest at Nats)

This is a beautiful skate and it's connected to the music and executed brilliantly. But at the end of the day, it's a little too Martha Graham for me. I prefer her kind of work on the stage and not on ice. I think this will be a well deserved win.

i couldn't take my eyes of them, and as i said for the short they're not even my cup of tea, i just like this whole idea of music in motion

Beautiful. I really hope one of the top US team will resign from competing at Worlds and they would get to go. Glad they'll get some ranking points here though.
