Netherlands has always worked for me so far *knock wood*.Aaargh SBS australia not showing GP France!?
Now I'm frantically trying to find a country in my VPN that works with the Youtube stream!
@moonvine was asleep. However I have watched almost all events now, and the best part has been the adorable sweepers. Single flowers seem to be highly preferred over stuffies, I'm sure they are lovely but I can't help but think of gas stations when I see them.Just tuned in. Is there—a permanent display of stuffies as part of the decor in the KnC? (Which is otherwise rather bare)
We better call @moonvine!
Young should have been ahead of Starr in SkCan. Here it was Yelim Kim.I like Loena but I think she was rlly held up here. Everything was little off. Young and Mana should have been ahead of her.
She just needs to land 3A tomorrow, and all will be well. Honestly, the whole stage is fairly modest, about SkAm level, only without Malinin buzz.Personally,I wasn't particularly impressed with either of the top 2 here. I felt they were both focusing only on the technical aspects of their skating. Also, I just don't really like either program. Leona got some European World medalist skating in Europe inflation here. To be fair though, I think her TES mark benefited from her incredible spins which are superior to the other ladies in this field.
I found Mana's program to be much more engaging even though I hate the music. She actually performed. Component wise I would have given the highest marks to Mana/ Haein but, of course, Haein made mistakes and Mana just doesn't have a reputation. So, the judges would never have agreed with me.
She went for simple jump content. Did a 3T-3T which was actually fully rotated. It was a smart move. She doesn't rotate her 3lz 3T very often. She still got an UR on her loop. I think she it's likely to find UR calls in the free will limit her scoring potential but the other ladies here are all capable of doing very well or completely falling apart in the FS. I wouldn't count on her staying top 5 but it might happen. Mana has a 3A. Rion has a beautiful ( if landed) 4T. We will see how it goes.I must say that I am pleasantly surprised to see Audrey Shin in 4th following the SP. I heard Mae was great so, I'm happy to see that Audrey is holding her own in this deep field. I have not seen her LP, does she have a shot at holding on to 4t place? That would a thrilling outcome in this deep field.
There are pairs and dance skaters from the US. And I'm sure some skaters speak English. Mae speaks English.I wonder how Audrey is feeling being the only US Singles Skater in France. It must be scary for her. I guess the skaters get used to it by the time they're seniors.
The 2 Worlds that I have been to, the pair skaters weren't back stage during the ladies event. That's what I'm talking about. It's always nice to hear some encouragement before you take the ice. There are pairs and dance skaters from the US. And I'm sure some skaters speak English. Mae speaks English.
Oh, that’s disappointing. Probably gonna skip the free then.I don't think Mana will attempt 3A in the FS. The most important is that she's in good hand with Coach Higuchi, and enjoys skating for now. It's definitely better that she can gain more confidence via better scoring at the international competitions (than the stingy domestic treatment) and to pursue 3A later on.
That is true. And ladies are first, so probably no team members in the audience. I hope she knows her US fans are cheering her on at home. I hope she has a great free program. The 2 Worlds that I have been to, the pair skaters weren't back stage during the ladies event. That's what I'm talking about. That's all they need to do if they can get the tech high enough. Why bother trying to get another point on the step sequence when you can train quads?Personally,I wasn't particularly impressed with either of the top 2 here.
