I must say that I am pleasantly surprised to see Audrey Shin in 4th following the SP. I heard Mae was great so, I'm happy to see that Audrey is holding her own in this deep field. I have not seen her LP, does she have a shot at holding onto 4t place? That would a thrilling outcome in this deep field.
I hope she can, because right now my predictions for Women look almost perfect 😆

OK, I'm kinda angry after seeing the women's short.

Yelim Kim turned in one of the most beautiful skates to the most sophisticated choreography I've seen in recent memory and she got totally screwed by the judges! In my opinion she was in a league of her own in this SP and should be leading, by quite a bit.
Just watch how she takes the time with her choreography and feels each movement. Nobody displayed even half of her musicality. It didn't look like a program of elements, as everyone else did, but a performance of a heartfelt whole. You could see she actually understands and feels her music. The elements were easy and well-integrated. And she has the most stunning arms in the business. The lack of acknowledgement of how special this program was is a huge disservice not just to her here, but to women's skating, because who will bother to aspire to this kind of performance if it goes almost entirely unrewarded?

Don't get me wrong, I like Mana Kawabe and Loena Hendrickx, too, but they were nowhere near Kim. Hendrickx is powerful, and I loved the footwork sequence, but the first half of the program she was concentrating so hard on the jumps that the expression was lacking. That she is so far ahead of Kim is a travesty, and world medalist points, period. It certainly doesn't reflect what was put out on the ice today.

And I had no horse going into this race. Kim's program is the singular best thing I've seen in women's skating this season. The judges need to wake the hell up.

Nah, Yelim did a great job but based on the past two Grand Prix so far, her scores were very fair. She didn’t emote much at all, though the elements were very solid. There is only a few points gap between her and Loena.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Yelim Kim emoted through her entire body, and just because it was more subtle, as was her music and she didn't look like she was at a rave doesn't make it lesser.

Aw man I missed this whole event! Fie on thee, time zones, fie!

Well I shall catch up now with women! Mae is here :)

Wow Mae's been in 20 GPs!

Brian Joubert! I was just watching his Torino 2006 FP the other evening and also the Matrix at 2006 Worlds... Those were good times...

Aaargh SBS australia not showing GP France!?

Now I'm frantically trying to find a country in my VPN that works with the Youtube stream!
Oddly enough the replay is on SBS on Demand...can't find the second day though. Odd.

Anyway Mae kicked butt! 😍

Wow Rion's dress is so nice! Did she go to Korea and discover their costume secrets ;)

Nice and did she or the flower girls line up all those stuffies so nicely?

Maia! I'm not familiar with her but she looks fun! Ouch on the falls though! I agree with Mark the choreo was enjoyable! Sad to see her sad though.

Oh wait the stuffies are part of the KnC! Cute! I'd be so tempted to take one though!

Mana! I think I put her on the podium in my predictions...

Not a huge fan of Billie E, but that step sequence was out!

Go Lindsay! Aww no, footwork fall! :( She was going so well too! Oh well tomorrow is another day.

Lea! And hey her birthday is on Halloween. And what's this Kill Bill without a yellow costume! Fierce though!

LOL Brian sit up straight you're on TV! There we go.

Great score for Lea 🙂

And that's Group 1!

Olga! Excited to see how she goes!

Once again the Koreans win best dressed.

But wow look at Loena's dress! The judges will have no problem spotting her. 🔥

OK let's bring it Olga! For @CrazyKittenLady and yourself!

This music is fun! I like it for some reason 😂

Oh no, a fall!

But Step Sequence Level 4!

Damn 5th place, harsh...

Rino.

Heh has anyone ever considered Papa has hearing issues and that's why he can't hear you...

Oh dear two falls, now I feel bad 😔 Poor Rino, fingers crossed for her in the free!

Audrey S. Love the dress and the rose in her hair! She looked to be having a really good time skating this. Ooo into 2nd for now! Nicely done!

Yelim! Wow, elegant is the only word for this SP! Very beautiful! Narrowly into first for now!

Haein's hairpiece is a thing of beauty I must say! And hey, I know this music...

Oh no the fall!! She was going so beautifully too!

I hope her PCS are good at least...except I wasn't paying attention so I don't know how it compares. Whoops.

Lorna!! I'm looking forward to a good time with this SP!

And yaaaas it was! I felt like Boogie-ing along. She sure is flexible though! Skating always makes me want to do leg kicks...alas I can barely kick above my opposite mid-shin LOL.

Well that was a fun ending to the SP. I actually know who wins but still I enjoyed watching.

Totally! That’s the problem with a subjective sport.
