Hello Milla!

(She and Laurin were shown on the gantry at the start of the coverage).

I know I said yesterday that being given a Finnish first name to go with her Irish surname was a nice way of honouring both sides of her family. But, I had another thought last night.

Could she be a second skater to be named after a character from "Star Trek: The Next Generation"?

We all know that Jean-Luc Baker is named after the Enterprise-D's captain, Jean-Luc Picard.

But, could Milla be named after the Enterprise-D's transporter chief, Miles O'Brien? Who, incidentally, is Irish.

Just a thought.

Can't say I am a fan of the second piece of music. Too clubby for me. But, I loved the first piece.

Some synchronicity issues in the twizzles. And you could see that Laura was struggling to keep up with Kevin at times later in the programme.

But, on the whole, a lot better than yesterday.

I hope Laura is happier when waiting for the results than she was yesterday. She should be!

Well done Laura & Kevin Fantastic to see an Irish Ice Dance team. I quite enjoyed the performance. They seemed quite happy afterwards. They got good levels on the twizzles.

I liked their ISU bio; Practice hours; ‘Where and when they can’ It can’t be easy based in Dublin. I see Kevin has done singles and short track.
